What Pack-a-Punch does in BO7
Pack-a-Punch is a machine-based weapon upgrade purchased with Essence after you reach the machine. Treyarch’s September 24, 2025 Zombies deep dive says primary, melee, and Wonder Weapons can each be enhanced up to three times. The published description says each tier boosts damage and ammo capacity, renames the weapon, and sometimes adds effects.

The official description does not publish universal damage multipliers or current Essence prices. Treat any cost or damage figure as map-, version-, or weapon-specific unless it is confirmed for the mode you are playing.
How the three Pack-a-Punch tiers work
The game’s described system has three enhancement steps. Each is another Pack-a-Punch upgrade, not a rarity level.

These are the limits of the published general mechanics: the source does not provide a universal per-tier stat table or guarantee a special effect on every weapon.
Where to find Pack-a-Punch on Ashes of the Damned
On Ashes of the Damned, the Pack-a-Punch machine is clamped to the exhaust of Ol’ Tessie, the Wonder Vehicle. The machine moves with the vehicle, so its location changes as Ol’ Tessie travels. In Survival Mode, the machine returns to a stationary position. These location behaviors are specific to the modes described by Treyarch, not a universal instruction for every Zombies map.

The official mechanics source does not give a step-by-step activation route for every current map. Use the in-game objective and map-specific instructions for the mode you are playing rather than assuming that Ashes of the Damned’s mobile-machine setup applies elsewhere.
Pack-a-Punch vs. rarity upgrades vs. Ammo Mods
BO7 treats these as distinct weapon systems. A weapon can be Pack-a-Punched, upgraded in rarity, and given an Ammo Mod; one upgrade does not stand in for the others.

In practical terms, check which system you are interacting with: Essence at Pack-a-Punch for tiered enhancement, Salvage at the Arsenal Machine for rarity, or the Ammo Mod system for an elemental effect. Do not use rarity colors as a count of Pack-a-Punch tiers.
What to check before spending Essence
- Confirm that you are at the Pack-a-Punch machine, not the Arsenal Machine.
- Check your available Essence and the cost shown in your current mode. Treyarch’s published overview does not establish a universal price.
- Confirm the weapon can be upgraded in the mode you are playing; the general description includes primary, melee, and Wonder Weapons.
- On Ashes of the Damned, account for Ol’ Tessie’s movement before navigating to the machine.
