Ubisoft’s Vantage Studios began operating on October 1, 2025, bringing teams working on Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six under one Creative House. The covered teams include locations in Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke and Saguenay, as well as Barcelona and Sofia. Tencent’s investment closed later, on November 21: it invested €1.16 billion for a 26.32% economic interest, while Ubisoft retained exclusive control of Vantage.
What is Vantage Studios?
Vantage Studios is the name Ubisoft uses for Ubisoft Nova SAS, a company organized around three of its major game franchises. Ubisoft described it as its first Creative House when Vantage became operational on October 1, 2025. The entity encompasses teams working on the named franchises, their back catalogues, and games already in development or developed in the future, according to Ubisoft’s March 27, 2025 announcement.
The dates refer to separate milestones: Ubisoft announced the proposed Tencent transaction in March; Vantage began operating in October; and Ubisoft confirmed the investment had closed in November.
Which franchises and locations are included?
Franchises
- Assassin’s Creed
- Far Cry
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
Ubisoft’s announcement describes teams working on these franchises, along with the franchises’ back catalogues and games in development or developed later. It does not provide a complete allocation of staff by studio or city.

Canadian locations
The locations Ubisoft named for teams developing the covered franchises include Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke and Saguenay. It also named Barcelona, Spain, and Sofia, Bulgaria. This is not a claim that every Ubisoft studio or every employee in those cities moved into Vantage.
Ubisoft Toronto was reported as outside Vantage in MobileSyrup’s October 1, 2025 report, which also cautioned that Vantage did not include all staff at each named studio. That report-specific detail should not be treated as a full or current map of Ubisoft staffing.

How much did Tencent invest, and who controls Vantage?
Ubisoft’s March 27 announcement said Tencent would invest €1.16 billion for an approximate 25% economic interest, subject to completion conditions. In its November 21 closing announcement, Ubisoft reported that Tencent held a 26.32% economic interest and cited a €3.8 billion pre-money enterprise value for Vantage.
| Milestone | Interest and status | Control |
|---|---|---|
| March 27, 2025 announcement | Proposed €1.16 billion investment for an approximate 25% economic interest | Ubisoft said the subsidiary would remain exclusively controlled and consolidated by Ubisoft |
| November 21, 2025 closing | €1.16 billion investment closed; Tencent held a 26.32% economic interest | Ubisoft said Vantage remained exclusively controlled and consolidated by Ubisoft |
The approximate 25% figure was the estimate in the announcement; 26.32% is Ubisoft’s reported figure after closing. An economic interest is not the same as control: Ubisoft said it retained exclusive control and continued to consolidate Vantage.

Ubisoft’s March announcement also described a worldwide, exclusive, irrevocable and perpetual licence for the three franchises in exchange for royalties, plus certain minority-protection, consent, lock-up and share-transfer terms. Those descriptions summarize Ubisoft’s announcement; they are not a complete analysis of the parties’ agreements.

Vantage is one part of a broader Creative Houses model, not another name for all of Ubisoft’s Creative Houses. Ubisoft’s January 2026 announcement described five Creative Houses supported by a Creative Network, shared Core Services and a reshaped headquarters organization, with the new structure due to start operating in early April 2026. In a March 2026 leadership update, Ubisoft said the five-house model groups teams around brands with similar genres and player experiences.
