What was leaked, and what did it suggest?
GameSpot reported on the leak in October 2024, before the remake launched, and noted that the new content might set up a sequel. Does the ending confirm Until Dawn 2?
No. The ending’s existence does not establish a connection to a sequel’s plot, continuity, or development. PlayStation later announced Until Dawn 2 on June 2, 2026, describing it as a standalone experience with a new cast and setting, planned for PS5 in 2027. How the remake differs from the 2015 original
Sony announced the remake for PS5 and PC, with an October 4, 2024 release date. It was rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 and introduced updated visuals and cinematography, a third-person camera option, a reworked prologue, and additional story material including Josh’s new possible outcome. The available sources do not support a complete comparison of every branch or ending.
