Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →As of October 8, 2026, the most useful RPG watchlist is a late-year one: many games scheduled for January through September have already launched. The entries below are divided into releases listed for a specific date, a game announced for a broad 2026 window, and a separate category for games without a confirmed date. Dates and platform lists are a snapshot, not a guarantee; check the publisher’s current announcement for your region before planning a purchase.
How to read this 2026 RPG watchlist
“RPG” covers a wide range of games. Bandai Namco’s RPG genre guide points to familiar comparison points such as character or party growth, story, choices and progression, while distinguishing turn-based combat from real-time action. Those are useful ways to compare the experiences here, not a strict test for whether a game belongs in the genre.

The calendar is selective rather than exhaustive. RPG Site’s schedule, last updated October 5, says it includes games with confirmed English versions and announced 2026 plans, and notes that RPG boundaries are fuzzy. A listed date should therefore be read as a schedule entry, not a promise that every region or platform will launch at the same local time.
Games listed for a specific date
November 5: Edge of Memories
Listed for November 5 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The available schedule identifies the date and platforms but does not establish a combat style or premise here, so check the game’s publisher page for those details before deciding whether it fits your watchlist.

November 12: Metaphor: ReFantazio on Switch 2
The schedule lists a Nintendo Switch 2 release for November 12. This is a platform-specific listing; it does not establish that the game is a brand-new RPG release on that date or provide additional details about the Switch 2 edition.
December 3: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Listed for Nintendo Switch 2 on December 3. The title identifies this as an edition for a new platform, rather than a wholly new game; the schedule does not specify its included changes.
Rank #2
- The games that inspired a generation come to life once more, in the ultimate 2D pixel remaster!
- These games are newly developed remaster editions based on the original titles. Some of the changes and additional elements found in other remakes of these games are not included.

December 3: Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World
Listed for December 3 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC. GamesRadar describes its central loop as finding, raising and synthesizing monsters, then taking them into battles. That description is a useful indication of its monster-collecting focus, but should be checked against publisher information as launch details are updated.

December 10: Attack on Titan 3

Witchbrook
GamesRadar describes Witchbrook as a 2026 game without a firm date and lists PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Treat it as a window-only possibility rather than a dated launch pick: the available information does not name a day or month.

Undated 2026 candidates
RPG Site’s schedule also maintains entries without a specific date and notes that some may move to its 2027 list as the year closes. A dated November or December calendar is more actionable than an undated year listing, so confirm current status before adding any such game to a near-term plan. The schedule names other November candidates, including Stellar Freight: Endless Horizon, Zero Parades: For Dead Spies, Crymelight, Annihilated, Prinny Party: Going Overboard, Shadow of the Road and Gothic 3; the information available here does not establish their individual dates, platforms or current release status.
Choose by platform, timing and combat style
- Check your platform first. Among the entries with platform details, support varies. A platform listed for one release does not imply availability on another system.
- Separate a new game from a new edition or milestone. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is listed as a Switch 2 Edition, while Path of Exile 2’s December entry is a planned Early Access exit. Neither label means the same thing as a brand-new game launch.
- Use combat rhythm as a preference filter. Turn-based and real-time action combat create different rhythms, but the available schedule does not specify combat style for most entries. Confirm the game’s own description or gameplay footage rather than inferring mechanics from its RPG label.
- Recheck close to launch. The schedule is a secondary-source snapshot updated October 5, 2026. Release dates, platform lists and regional timing can change.
This is a practical late-2026 calendar, not a definitive count of every RPG coming out this year. Its English-release focus and broad genre boundaries make it a useful starting list, not a universal catalog.
