When did Until Dawn come to PS5?
Sony announced the enhanced PS5 and PC versions on January 31, 2024, with a 2024 release window. On August 14, 2024, it confirmed the launch date as October 4, 2024. The official US PlayStation Store listing identifies the PS5 edition and gives the same release date.

Sony’s announcement called it an “enhanced version” and said it was rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. Later PlayStation copy described it as “rebuilt from the ground up.” “Remaster” is a common shorthand, but it is not the only label Sony uses for this release.
What changed in the PS5 version?
Sony’s documented changes span presentation, camera, story framing, exploration, and play options. They are best understood as a collection of specific revisions rather than a quantified performance upgrade: Sony has not published benchmark figures comparing frame rates or graphical uplift with the PS4 original.

How does the game play?
Until Dawn remains a single-player narrative horror game. The player’s choices affect relationships between characters and who survives, making decisions and their consequences central to the experience. The new camera options change how scenes are viewed, but Sony’s description presents the same choice-driven premise.
Accessibility and DualSense support on PS5
PlayStation lists customizable controls, audio-visual settings, quick-time-event settings, and glint enhancement among the PS5 edition’s accessibility options. It also supports DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers. A DualSense controller is an optional way to experience those features, not a stated requirement for playing the game.

What does the PC version include?
Sony’s September 12, 2024 PC feature article lists DLSS and FSR upscaling, ultrawide display options, ray tracing, unlocked frame rates, and DualSense support. Sony also says a PlayStation Network account is required to play on PC. These PC-specific features should not be assumed to describe the PS5 version’s settings.
