What did the Cyberpunk 2077 Moon leak reveal?
PC Gamer reported in 2023 that 4chan users shared assets they claimed came from the 2021 CD Projekt hack. The material reportedly depicted a lunar surface area. That is evidence of a reported set of assets and a possible Moon-related setting—not confirmation of a planned, complete, or playable Moon expansion. The report did not independently authenticate the assets. It also did not document missions, characters, a finished map, a story, or release plans.
Was Cyberpunk 2077 getting a Moon expansion?
The available reporting does not prove that CD PROJEKT RED had committed to a Moon expansion. It leaves open whether the lunar material was cut content from the base game or was associated with DLC that was later canceled. Neither possibility establishes that a substantial expansion entered production, and the publisher has not confirmed a Moon DLC in the cited statements.

So the careful answer to “Was the Cyberpunk 2077 Moon DLC real?” is that Moon-related assets were reported, but a Moon DLC as a developed or officially planned product has not been established. Claims about its plot, characters, missions, timing, or a completed playable area go beyond what the report supports.
What did CD PROJEKT RED confirm about Cyberpunk 2077 expansions?
In its support information about previous-generation consoles, CD PROJEKT RED said that after Patch 1.6 the studio would focus attention and resources on new-generation console versions and PC, and identified Phantom Liberty as the only planned expansion developed for Cyberpunk 2077. Phantom Liberty is the publisher-confirmed comparison: CD PROJEKT RED announced it as an expansion with a September 26, 2023 release date, then announced its premiere on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. In March 2026, PC Gamer reported that the official Cyberpunk 2077 account replied to a question about additional DLC: “We have no plans for additional DLCs or expansions.
