In R.E.P.O., the CART Cannon and CART Laser are described as cart-mounted weapons: place one inside the cart, then activate it while a teammate steers. A May 2025 guide reports the cannon as a focused, high-damage weapon with cart-moving recoil, and the laser as a wider-area option that can hit teammates. Those details—including damage and price figures—come from dated guides, not verified specifications for the current game build.
How to get the CART Cannon and CART Laser in R.E.P.O.
A May 30, 2025 XboxPlay guide says both weapons could be found at the Service Station on the beta branch. It reported a cost of 40,000–50,000 in-game currency per weapon. Treat that as historical information: current live-branch availability, shop rotation, and prices are not confirmed by the available sources. A community wiki search result dates both items to beta version 0.1.2.31, released May 16, 2025.
Check the branch and shop in your own game before planning a run around either weapon. The older availability and price reports may not match the current build.
How to mount and operate the weapons
The Escapist’s May 17, 2025 guide says to lift a weapon and place it inside the cart; it should attach automatically. The guide describes an activation indicator that changes from red to green when the weapon is ready. It gives the normal E function as the activation control and describes one player operating the weapon while another steers.

- Lift the CART Cannon or CART Laser and place it inside the cart to mount it, as described in the May 2025 guide.
- Check the weapon’s indicator for its ready state; the guide says it changes from red to green.
- Use the game’s current on-screen prompt to activate it. The 2025 guide names E, but controls may have changed.
- Coordinate with a teammate to steer while you operate the mounted weapon.
Because the control details come from a dated guide, use the prompts shown in your current game if they differ.
CART Cannon vs. CART Laser: reported differences

When the cannon makes sense
The 2025 guide presents the cannon as the focused-damage choice. Its reported recoil makes cart positioning part of using it: firing may disrupt steering or move the vehicle, so coordinate with the driver rather than treating the cart as stationary.
When the laser makes sense
The same guide frames the laser as a broader-area option. That coverage comes with a reported risk of hitting teammates, so keep allies clear of its firing path.

Mods that change aiming or carrying
LaserAim 1.2.0
The LaserAim listing advertises a muzzle-projected laser and hit indicator, including support for the CART Cannon and CART Laser. It requires BepInEx 5. Its changelog says the cart-weapon laser appears when the weapon is mounted in a cart and grabbed by the local player. The listing also describes configurable color, opacity, width, and dot size, plus shotgun visualization. These are mod-page feature claims, not a guarantee that the mod works with every current game version.
Portable Cart Tools 1.0.1
The Portable Cart Tools listing advertises carrying the weapons without leaving them attached to the cart, storing them in inventory, and aiming in the direction the player looks while carrying them. The listing says multiplayer works best when all players install the mod; with only the host installing it, client inventory behavior may be limited. Check the mod page for current compatibility and multiplayer notes before installing.
