Can PS5 and Xbox players play together?
Yes. Riot says PlayStation and Xbox console players can play together. Console players cannot join matches with PC players; Riot says it keeps console and PC play separate to protect competitive integrity and provide a fair, consistent experience. These rules are stated in Riot’s September 24, 2026 announcement.

Does progress carry between console and PC?
Riot says players use the same account across console and PC, and progress does not reset when switching platforms on that account. Battlepass progress, recruited Agents, purchased skins, and other earned or purchased content carry over, according to the same Riot announcement.
Do you need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass?
No. Riot says neither a PlayStation Plus nor an Xbox Game Pass subscription is required to play VALORANT on console. Subscribers may receive benefits, but a subscription is not a condition of playing, per Riot’s player FAQ.

Is VALORANT available in your region?
Availability varies by region, so the local PlayStation or Xbox store is the practical place to check whether the game can be downloaded where you live. Riot’s August 9, 2024 notice named the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil for the initial console rollout, but explicitly said availability could change; that historical list should not be treated as a current, exhaustive country list.
Riot announced on September 24, 2026 that the game was live in Australia and New Zealand, with Sydney server access beginning September 23. The announcement also described a temporary local server lock during pre-launch testing; that was specific to the launch period, not a current general access rule.

Which console should you choose?
If you already own a supported console, use that one: the game is free, and Riot does not establish a performance or competitive advantage for either console. If you are choosing based on friends, PS5 and Xbox players can queue together, while PC players remain in separate matches. Check your local store before making a hardware decision, since availability depends on region.
