VALORANT patch 8.11, published June 11, 2024, changed five Agents, launched Abyss, reshuffled PC map pools, and introduced features for the console Limited Beta. Riot said the Duelist changes were intended to help Agents beyond Jett and Raze compete for space; that was the design goal, not a measured outcome. The details below describe patch 8.11 as released, not the current live balance.
Which Agents changed in patch 8.11?
Riot’s stated aim was to help other Duelists compete with Jett and Raze, whose speed and mobility help them take space for a team. Patch 8.11 adjusted Iso, Neon, Reyna, Raze, and Clove. The figures below are Riot’s 2024 patch specifications, not independently measured performance results. Read Riot’s patch 8.11 notes.
Iso
- Double Tap gained a one-second activation channel during which Iso could not use his gun. Its charges fell from two to one, and a two-kill reset was added.
- Iso could recast an active Double Tap to refresh its duration.
- Riot changed the penetration tag when the shield broke and added an indicator showing the direction of incoming damage.
Neon
- High Gear received movement and fuel-recovery adjustments. Slide charges rose from one to two, and sliding no longer caused weapon movement error.
- Fast Lane’s duration fell from six seconds to four, while its dissolve duration rose from one second to two.
- Relay Bolt charges fell from two to one. Its windup was shortened and its concussion duration increased.
Reyna
- Devour healing fell from 100 to 50, while the time to reach full healing fell from three seconds to two.
- Dismiss became faster but had a shorter duration.
- Empress no longer had a timer that could end it before Reyna died or the round ended.
Raze
- Opponent-destroyed Blast Packs no longer dealt damage or knocked players back.
- Horizontal velocity from satchels was reduced, and their sound could be heard from farther away.
Clove
- Pick-Me-Up’s cost increased from 100 to 200 credits; its duration fell from 10 seconds to eight, and the activation window after damaging an enemy fell from 10 seconds to six.
- Not Dead Yet’s cost increased from seven ultimate points to eight.
What was Abyss, and where could you play it?
Abyss launched as a 5v5 Spike-mode map with three lanes and two sites. Riot described it as its first map “that has no boundaries,” referring to its open edges and hazardous falls. At launch, it was available in Unrated, Swift Play, Spike Rush, and Escalation. On PC, a dedicated Abyss-only queue was scheduled to run for one week using Unrated’s format. Riot’s patch notes said Abyss would join PC Competitive in patch 9.0 and Premier in 9.02. Riot’s 8.11 notes describe the launch.
How did patch 8.11 change the map pools?
On PC, Riot listed these maps for Competitive, Deathmatch, and Premier in patch 8.11:

Breeze and Split left those pools. Riot noted separate exceptions for Premier Stage E8A3 playoffs and Week 6. Unrated, Swift Play, Spike Rush, and Escalation moved to an open map pool, which included Abyss. These are the rotations stated for patch 8.11, not a description of today’s pools.
What did the console Limited Beta add?
Patch 8.11 was the first patch for VALORANT’s console Limited Beta. The initial console map pool was Abyss, Ascent, Bind, and Haven. Riot scheduled console Competitive for patch 9.0.

The beta update added onboarding and practice options, including:
- New-player tips and a basic training tutorial.
- An optional bot-training match on Haven, presented as a full Swift Play match.
- Changes to practice features.
Console players also received changes to radio-command wheels and team voice behavior. The new wheels included Buy Phase strategy commands, separate Attacker and Defender strategy wheels, and a Megamap commands wheel; existing commands were also updated. What other PC and game-system changes were included?
- Performance: Riot updated PC threading behavior with the stated goal of improving performance and loading times on two-core machines. The notes do not provide a quantified benchmark.
- AFK behavior: Riot increased the severity of intervention for AFKs associated with remade matches, with stronger intervention for repeated occurrences.
- Store interface: The PC store interface was updated to show ally utility and remaining armor and to make purchase and affordability states clearer.

Patch 8.11 is a historical snapshot, not a current balance guide. Riot’s June 25, 2024 patch 9.0 notes confirm that Abyss entered PC Ranked and that Iso’s Double Tap duration changed from 20 seconds to 12 seconds, with its signature kill reset removed. Those follow-up changes mean the 8.11 Iso specifications should not be treated as lasting live-game behavior.

Riot’s notes provide ability specifications and design intent, but no independently measured win-rate or general player-performance statistics establishing that these changes improved an Agent or changed match outcomes.
