The community-maintained Viscera Cleanup Detail Wiki describes the commands below, but labels its list incomplete; treat this as a practical reference, not a complete or officially verified command list.
Open and use the Developer Console
The Viscera Cleanup Detail Wiki describes the console as a hidden testing feature, displayed as a black dropdown with neon-green borders, a command-entry field, and a history area. Press ~ to open it. The wiki places that key above Tab, but does not verify the key position for every keyboard layout or platform. It also says commands are case-insensitive.
Enter a command in the console and press Enter. Some commands change movement or camera behavior; others remove objects, reload the level, or end the game. The command descriptions here are reported by the community wiki, not independently tested.
Movement and camera commands

The wiki describes Walk as the way to disable these modes or restore the normal view; it does not give separate toggle-off commands for each one.

Find or remove objects
Locate mess with the Sniffer
DebugShowViscera marks the nearest viscera, splatter, or mess object. The wiki says it works only while the Sniffer is equipped.
Remove a nearby object
KillNearestMessremoves the closest object the game considers a mess. The wiki says it can help when the Sniffer points to unreachable debris.KillNearestNonMessremoves the closest movable object that is not considered mess. The wiki’s examples include a crate, barrel, disposal bin, or tool.
Both commands delete objects. Check what is nearby before using them, especially KillNearestNonMess, which can remove useful items as well as clutter.

Remove every object of a class
KillAll [Class.Object] removes all objects belonging to the specified class. The wiki gives this example for removing flare items:
killall visceragamecontent.vcdebris_flare
This is broader than either nearest-object command: it targets every matching object in the level, so use the correct class name and expect a wide-ranging deletion.

Summon an item
Summon [Class] is the format to try when adding an object by its class name. The class must be known; the wiki points readers to the game files for class names and does not provide a complete summonable-item list. Objects created with debug tools in a normal level may not persist after reloading.
Tools, level reloads, and quitting
GiveToolssupplies debug tools intended for the map editor. The wiki says objects created in normal levels will not save on reload unless copied into the editor.AllWeaponsgives the Mop, Sniffer, and Laser Welder. The wiki notes a visual glitch with the Laser Welder’s world model, but says the tool still functions.Restartreloads the current level; the wiki describesRestartLevelas equivalent.Quitexits immediately and does not save. Save first if you want to keep your progress.
Achievements and mode restrictions
The community wiki says console commands do not currently prevent achievement unlocks. It also says commands are disabled in Speedrun and Co-op/Multiplayer modes, except for the host in Co-op/Multiplayer. In single-player Speedrun, it says EnableCheats enables Fly and Ghost, but not KillNearestMess or KillNearestNonMess. These are wiki-reported behaviors, not independently verified guarantees.

The wiki’s achievements page lists RetryAchievementUnlocks for retrying achievements that should already have unlocked, and says the command is available as of v1.092. That version note is the page’s stated context, not confirmation of compatibility with every current build.
