Cody Rhodes was the Standard Edition cover star, and Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair shared the Deluxe Edition cover. Those dates are historical: the game’s launch window closed in March 2024, so the details below describe what was announced and what the publisher said at the time.
Release dates by edition
2K staggered the launch so that the premium editions reached players three days before the standard releases. The table below lists each edition as it was announced in the official FAQ and launch communications.

The Cross-Gen edition was the only digital-only offering. It covered the previous- and current-generation consoles within the same family, meaning PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, or Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, depending on the owner’s hardware.
Cover stars and artwork
Standard Edition: Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes appeared on the Standard Edition cover. In an Associated Press report, he described the cover placement in personal terms, saying: “To check it off in this style, it’s just the best.”

Deluxe Edition: Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair
The Deluxe Edition cover was shared by Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. Buyers of the premium package therefore got a two-Superstar cover rather than the single-star artwork used for the standard release.
Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition: illustrated montage
The Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition did not use a single wrestler. Its cover was an illustrated montage of historic Superstars, credited to illustrator Jonathan Bartlett in the official FAQ. It was tied to the game’s WrestleMania theme and was released alongside the Deluxe Edition on March 5, 2024.

What the January 22, 2024 announcement covered
2K announced WWE 2K24 as a Visual Concepts-developed game for the following platforms:
- PlayStation 5
- PlayStation 4
- Xbox Series X|S
- Xbox One
- PC via Steam
The official announcement highlighted four headline features: a WrestleMania-focused Showcase mode, four new match types, two MyRISE experiences, and a roster of more than 200 Superstars and Legends. The roster figure is the publisher’s own count and should be read as “more than 200” rather than an exact total.

For a physical copy, confirm the edition name and platform on the packaging or listing, since the Standard and Deluxe editions were sold in both physical and digital formats while the Cross-Gen edition was digital only.
