Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Standard, and Core members could play the Standard Edition through Xbox Free Play Days; Windows Central also reported a Steam option for PC players that did not require Xbox membership.
When was WWE 2K25 free to play?
Xbox included WWE 2K25 Standard Edition in Free Play Days from Thursday, July 31, through Sunday, August 3, 2025. That window overlapped SummerSlam 2025, held August 2–3. The promotion is expired and is not a current way to access the game.

Who could play during the offer?
Xbox
Xbox’s July 31, 2025 announcement said the offer was available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Standard, and Core members. Eligible players could sign in on the game’s Xbox.com details page and use the install option, or open the Xbox Store on console and find the Free Play Days collection under the Subscriptions tab. Xbox Wire’s announcement has the original details.
PC
Windows Central reported on August 1, 2025, that PC players could launch the free-play option from WWE 2K25’s Steam page without an Xbox membership. That was a contemporaneous secondary report, distinct from the membership terms in Xbox’s announcement. Windows Central’s report described the same July 31–August 3 window.

Could players keep their progress?
Xbox said players could buy the game or another edition during the event to continue playing, while retaining Gamerscore and achievements earned during Free Play Days. Any event discount was limited-time and could vary by title and region; those historical discounts should not be treated as current prices or offers.
What is WWE 2K25?
WWE 2K25 is a wrestling sports game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. The 2K Store lists its release date as March 14, 2025. Its described features include 2K Showcase: The Bloodline’s Dynasty, a unified MyRISE story, online multiplayer in MyGM, Universe upgrades, intergender wrestling, chain wrestling, Underground and Bloodline Rules match types, and barricade diving. The free-play event has ended, and the information available here does not establish today’s price, stock, or discount. WWE 2K25 was also announced for Nintendo Switch 2; 2K says offline modes can be played on the go, while online features require an internet connection and, on Switch 2, Nintendo Switch Online and a Nintendo Account.
