How the MyRise Royal Rumble fits into the story
MyRise is WWE 2K22’s career mode: your wrestler begins at the Performance Center and works toward WWE superstardom. It has separate men’s and women’s storylines, and story choices can affect how you progress. Contemporary guides describe reaching a main show and qualifying for the Rumble as part of the journey, with Battle Royale wins among the possible qualification steps. A reliable approach to the Rumble
1. Protect your position first
Keep away from the ropes when you are not making an elimination attempt. After an attack or failed attempt, move back toward the ring center rather than lingering on the perimeter. Watch for opponents already hanging over the rope or stranded on the apron; they may be easier targets than someone fresh in the ring.
2. Weaken a target, then move them to the ropes
Do not rush a fresh opponent with a running clothesline near the edge: if it is reversed, you can be eliminated instead. Work on weakening a target, then use a grapple, carry, drag, or strong Irish whip to bring them to the ropes. When an opponent is hanging from the rope or caught on the apron, attack to finish the elimination before they recover.

3. Spend a stored finisher for a direct elimination
- Build and store at least one finisher meter.
- Weaken an opponent and position them against the ropes.
- When the Rumble finisher prompt appears, press R2 + X on PlayStation or RT + A on Xbox.
A successful Rumble finisher automatically eliminates its target, but the opponent can reverse it. Use it on a vulnerable rope-side opponent rather than treating it as a guaranteed escape from a difficult match.
Choosing between methods

The core trade-off is timing: an elimination attempt is most worthwhile when the target is already vulnerable and you can avoid being left beside the ropes yourself.

- You are getting thrown out: stop attacking at the edge and return toward the center after each attempt. Avoid running clotheslines near the ropes, where a reversal can turn the move against you.
- The target escapes: weaken them before trying again, and use a carry or drag to control their position rather than repeatedly rushing in.
- Your finisher does not trigger: check that you have stored a finisher meter and that the opponent is positioned at the ropes; use the prompted button combination when it appears.
- You are unsure how you reached the match: MyRise routes can depend on storyline and choices. Guides describe Battle Royale victories and main-show progression as parts of qualification, but not as one mandatory sequence for every player.
The documented controls and tactics are specific to WWE 2K22. The sources do not establish whether later patches changed these mechanics.
