No evidence in the sources reviewed shows that War Thunder was delisted from the Steam store after review bombing. Steam’s support page lists the game, and a War Thunder forum response on June 22, 2023 said it was still available there. Gaijin’s May 2023 statements addressed player protests over planned economy changes and review bombing; they did not announce a Steam delisting.
Was War Thunder removed from the Steam store?
The available evidence does not support that claim. Steam’s War Thunder support page identifies the game and its Steam information. In a War Thunder forum thread titled “Can no longer download the game on steam?”, a respondent wrote on June 22, 2023: “WT is still available on Steam and thousands of players run (and update) the game from Steam every day…” That statement confirms availability on that date; it is not a current-status guarantee.
What did Gaijin say about review bombing?
In May 2023, players objected to planned changes to War Thunder’s in-game economy. Gaijin said it had cancelled those changes following player feedback and invited players to submit further feedback through its website. Those statements concerned the game’s economy, not its availability on Steam.
In a separate explanation of progression and the economy, Gaijin criticized review bombing as harmful to attracting new players and encouraged players to use forums and feedback forms. That is Gaijin’s position on the effects of review bombing, not an independently measured finding. Creative director Kirill Yudintsev also said, “Of course, a review on Steam is also a platform for expression.” Gaijin stated in the same explanation that about 80% of War Thunder players had never paid into the game; that figure is Gaijin’s own 2023 statement, not an independently audited statistic.

What about Gaijin’s supported-platform list?
A change to the supported-platform list on Gaijin’s own website is a separate claim from removal of a game from Steam’s store. The sources cited here do not establish whether that website list changed, when it might have changed, or why. They therefore do not show that review bombing caused a Steam store delisting.

Store availability, launching or updating the game through the Steam client, and linking a Gaijin account to a Steam profile are distinct issues. Gaijin Support says only an account created using Steam login can be linked to its related Steam profile. It also says purchases made through the Steam Store can only be received on the Steam-linked game account. If a purchase is missing, check which game account is linked before assuming the game has been removed from Steam.
