Warcraft III: Reforged Patch 2.0.0 adds Classic HD art options, extensive interface and control changes, ranked progression updates, revised team matchmaking, Chicago and Sydney servers, and several bug fixes. Blizzard’s published notes cover the changes below; they do not list gameplay-balance adjustments. Blizzard’s anniversary recap described the update as available to Warcraft III: Reforged players. Read Blizzard’s recap.
Visual changes: Classic HD assets and Reforged environments
Patch 2.0.0 adds HD versions of classic units, buildings, visual effects, heroes, environments, and icons. Players can customize the mix of Reforged and Classic HD assets in the options screen under Reforged.
The Collection also gains Warcraft III Starter Portraits, Warcraft II and Warcraft I portraits, and Reforged Campaign Heroes as playable multiplayer skins. When a skin has a Classic equivalent, the Classic version appears if Classic HD Heroes is enabled. A new option disables skins and displays default units, and a filter separates skins from portraits.
For Reforged environments, Blizzard updated terrain art across all environments and adjusted various tree doodads to match. Foliage is disabled by default. The patch removes bloom, updates the tone map, and increases ambient lighting. These are visual changes; the patch notes do not promise a performance improvement.

Ranked progression, matchmaking, and servers
The multiplayer changes affect ranked progression, leaderboard ordering, seasonal resets, and team matchmaking:
Rank #2
- New Pointstreak system that rewards players both for landing kills and completing objectives
- Weapons proficiency system that allows you to customize your favorite weapons, making them more effiecent in any map or mode
- Online/offline 2-player co-op Special Ops Survival mode that earns you experience through 16 frantic objective-based missions
- New play modes, including: Kill Confirmed mode, Team Defender mode and user generated match modes
- Integration with 'Call of Duty: Elite,' an online multiplayer oriented service launched simultaneously with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
- Ranked play now awards XP and levels. Leaderboard ranking is based on XP; when players share the same XP rank, MMR breaks the tie.
- MMR bands have been reduced from 0–10,000 to 0–7,000.
- For players who are currently ranked, MMR no longer resets at the start of a new season. A player who played zero games in the previous season receives a slight MMR reset.
- Level and XP reset completely at the start of every season. This reset is separate from the MMR behavior described above.
- Arranged Teams can no longer match against Random Teams in 3v3 and 4v4.
- New game servers have been added in Chicago, United States, and Sydney, Australia. The notes do not quantify latency or guarantee a connection improvement for any player.
World Editor changes
When using Classic HD, World Editor users can now turn Reforged add-ons on or off. They can also toggle foliage.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue that prevented players from creating Clans or inviting players to them.
- Fixed an issue that caused a Demon Hunter to permanently lose vision after being revived through the Ankh of Reincarnation.
- Fixed an issue where match results were not processed.
- On Mac, fixed an issue that prevented the game from launching.
What Patch 2.0.0 does not establish
Blizzard’s Patch 2.0.0 notes document visual, interface, ranked, matchmaking, server-location, and bug-fix changes. They do not enumerate balance adjustments, quantify the effect of the new server locations on latency, or establish that these are the game’s newest live changes. Later updates may have superseded some of the listed details. See Blizzard’s full Patch 2.0.0 notes.
