If WARRIORS: Abyss crashes on your Windows PC, start with the low-risk checks: restart the computer, compare your hardware with the game’s published requirements, update Windows and graphics drivers, verify the game files in Steam, then close nonessential background apps and retry. These are diagnostic steps, not guaranteed fixes; change one thing at a time so you can identify what affects the problem.
Try these checks in order
- Restart your PC. Relaunch Steam and WARRIORS: Abyss after Windows has restarted. This clears some temporary problems without changing your game settings.
- Compare your PC with the published requirements. Check the minimum and recommended specifications below. Meeting the minimum does not guarantee that every system will run the game without issues.
- Install Windows and device-driver updates. Use Windows Update for Windows updates, and check the graphics-card maker’s official software or support page for the current driver for your GPU. Restart after installing updates.
- Verify the game files in Steam. In your Steam Library, right-click WARRIORS: Abyss, choose Properties, open Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files. Wait for Steam to finish and retry the game.
- Close nonessential background software. Temporarily disable overlays and other apps that are not needed to run the game, then launch it again. Re-enable them one at a time if the crash stops.
Steam recommends restarting, updating Windows and drivers, verifying files, disabling nonessential software, and checking system requirements for launch problems. Causes vary across PC configurations, so note which step changes the behavior rather than assuming one fix applies to every crash. Check whether your PC meets the game’s requirements

Check the WARRIORS: Abyss Steam technical-issue listing for the current published requirements. If your PC falls below a listed minimum, that is relevant context for troubleshooting, but it does not by itself identify why the game is crashing.

If only the opening movie or tutorial videos fail
KOEI TECMO’s troubleshooting notice addresses a specific problem: opening movies or tutorial videos not playing even when the PC meets the system requirements. For Steam players, it recommends installing Microsoft’s VP9 Video Extensions. If that does not resolve the video issue, contact KOEI TECMO support using the route identified on the game’s Steam technical-support page. This is a video-playback remedy; the notice does not establish VP9 as a fix for ordinary gameplay crashes.

What to do if the game still crashes
Use the game’s Steam technical-issue page to reach its listed official support provider, KOEI TECMO. When reporting the problem, include details that can help distinguish a launch failure from a crash during play:
- The exact error message, if one appears.
- When the crash happens: before the game opens, during an opening or tutorial video, or during gameplay.
- Your Windows version, processor, graphics card, and graphics-driver version.
- Which troubleshooting steps you tried and what happened after each one.
Steam notes that some individual PC configurations may require help from a local technician. Consider that only after the basic checks fail; the available guidance does not support buying a particular component or repair tool as a general fix.
