The Space Wolves refresh and the new Space Marine Intercessor reveal happened at different AdeptiCon previews, a year apart. Games Workshop announced the Space Wolves Army Set on 27 March 2025; on 26 March 2026, it revealed a new Warhammer 40,000 edition and introduced an Intercessor from the Armageddon launch box. The 2026 preview did not announce a new Space Wolves miniature refresh.
What new Space Marines were revealed at AdeptiCon in 2026?
At its 26 March 2026 AdeptiCon Preview, Games Workshop showed a member of a new Intercessor Squad, part of the Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon launch box. The company described the design as combining contemporary Space Marine styling with classic details, with older and newer armour marks mixed across the unit. As attrition leaves gaps in a force, the fictional explanation is that Tacticus armour can be supplemented with older components, including helmets, shoulder pads and greaves.
Games Workshop wrote that “the mix of older armour marks with new ones is indicative of what you can expect from the rest of the unit.” That is Warhammer Community’s description, not a quotation attributed to a named designer. The preview introduced one model; it said the box’s full contents had not yet been shown at that time.
What did Games Workshop say about the new edition?
The 2026 preview also outlined intended changes for the forthcoming edition. These are Games Workshop’s descriptions of the rules, not independently tested findings.
#1 Best Overall
- 10 plastic miniatures for Warhammer 40,000
- A flexible unit for every Space Marines army
- Equally suited to storming enemy emplacements or holding vital objectives
- A versatile kit with loads of customisation options
- These miniatures require assembly and are supplied unpainted
- Current codexes and faction rules would remain valid when the new edition launched.
- Players would have more flexible detachment choices, and mission rules would be affected by army selection.
- Objective areas would use terrain footprints rather than round markers, and cover would affect hit rolls.
- Charging, fight activation, damage resolution, and the sequence for pile-ins and consolidations would change.
The preview’s rules overview is separate from the miniature reveal: it does not make the Intercessor a Space Wolves model or announce a new Wolves range.
What was in the 2025 Space Wolves Army Set?
Games Workshop revealed the Space Wolves refresh at AdeptiCon on 27 March 2025. The Space Wolves Army Set paired new Blood Claws, a Wolf Guard Battle Leader and a Wolf Priest with an updated Codex: Space Wolves. Games Workshop said the Codex included lore, miniature galleries and datasheets for 20 unique units.

How does the Space Wolves Army Set compare with Armageddon?
These boxes serve different purposes: the 2025 set is the direct product tied to the Space Wolves refresh, while Armageddon is the 2026 edition-launch box built around Space Marines and Orks.

No new Space Wolves miniature refresh was announced in the 26 March 2026 AdeptiCon article. Space Wolves appear in the Armageddon story as one Chapter in a coalition, but that narrative appearance is not a model-release announcement. A separate Space Wolves faction-rules update previewed on 16 September 2026 is a rules story, not evidence of another miniature refresh.
