What changed in Warzone Season 3 movement?
Season 03 adjusted movement values that Warzone had initially adopted from Black Ops 6 Multiplayer. Activision said those values needed tuning for Warzone’s larger map and distinct engagement styles, rather than simply carrying over unchanged.
Speed and sprinting
Activision described the update as slightly scaling back some speed increases introduced in the preceding months, bringing movement closer to what players experienced in Warzone’s early days. It specifically named omni-sprint speed scaling as an area changed. The announcement does not provide a percentage reduction or precise speed values, so the scale of the adjustment cannot be expressed as a numeric before-and-after comparison.

Sliding and strafe engagements
The update also changed slide friction. Activision said the sprint and strafe adjustments were intended to address the strength of strafe engagements while retaining the feel of sprint-strafe reloading and general movement. Those are the developer’s stated goals; the announcement does not establish a measured competitive-balance outcome.

How closely does the rebuilt map match 2020 Verdansk?
Activision characterized the Season 03 map as “95% a rebuilt version” of Verdansk as it appeared in 2020. The remaining portion included light landscape adjustments and quality-of-life changes, according to the publisher. The figure is Activision’s approximate description, not an independent measurement of the map.
The return was intended to preserve the familiar classic layout while incorporating selected updates from Verdansk’s later life. Activision, for example, pointed to Metro Station entrances as a feature drawn from subsequent seasons. What did Verdansk’s launch modes offer?
Xbox Wire’s April 2, 2025 guide described Battle Royale as supporting up to 150 players. That is a mode-specific maximum, not a guaranteed lobby size across Warzone playlists. The guide also listed Casual Battle Royale, Ranked Play, Plunder Quads, Bootcamp and Resurgence among the launch-era and mid-season offerings; player counts and formats varied by mode.
