After you pick up a weapon crafting book in Crimson Desert, open it in your inventory and examine it to register its blueprints in Kliff’s crafting menu. The third-party locations below cover reported routes in Hernand, Pailune, Demeniss, and the Crimson Desert region; where a volume has more than one reported copy, the alternatives are marked as such.
How weapon crafting books work
MapMaster’s location guide says examining a book in your inventory is the step that adds its blueprints to Kliff’s crafting menu. Finding or taking the volume alone may not complete registration. The game’s weapon-book families are One-Handed Weapons, Two-Handed Weapons, Ranged Weapons – Bows, Ranged Weapons – Guns, and Shields; database records list numbered volumes, commonly I through IV.
Locations below are reported by third-party guides and item databases, not independently verified in-game. Merchant stock, prices, and access conditions can change, so check the named seller or landmark in your current game.
One-handed weapon books
Volume I — Hernand and alternate copies
- Hernand: Rhett sells One-Handed Weapons of the World, Vol. I at the Hernand Equipment Shop, according to MapMaster and gaming.tools. The item record also names Tommaso Tanner at Lederson as a seller, but does not establish that route’s current stock.
- Alternate copy: MapMaster reports a copy on a table at the back of Shakatu’s tent from Chapter 3 onward. It also lists stealable bookshelf copies.
MapMaster says one copy is enough to register the same blueprints, so these are alternative routes rather than books you need to collect together.

- Cloister of Enlightenment: MapMaster lists a copy near a Faded Abyss Artifact on an altar.
Two-handed weapon books
Volume I — Pailune
- Beighen Smithy: MapMaster reports the book on a small table. The guide says it can be bought for 2.50 Silver or stolen.
Volume I — Hernand alternate copy
- Manor: MapMaster lists another copy on a bookshelf upstairs, in the room to the left.
Volume IV — Demeniss
- Bloodsteel Camp Equipment Shop: MapMaster reports that Malchor sells this volume.
Bow books
Volume I — Hernand
- Ivynook: MapMaster says the book is inside a wooden box in the vine-covered house. Light an arrow at the nearby bonfire and shoot the vines to get inside, then open the box and examine the book.
Gun books
Volume III — Hernand
- Scholastone Institute Library: MapMaster lists the volume on a bookcase on the second floor, above the Helm of Knowledge. The guide marks this location as theft-only.
Volume IV — Crimson Desert region
- Back Alley Shop: MapMaster lists Vex as the seller and reports a price of 200 Silver. Treat the price and inventory as subject to change and confirm them in-game.
What about other volumes and shield books?
Gamer Guides’ item index lists book families for one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons, bows, guns, and shields, with records commonly numbered I–IV. That index establishes the categories and volume records, but it does not by itself confirm a current location for every volume. The locations above are the actionable entries identified in the referenced guides; they should not be read as a complete, officially verified location list.

If a volume has alternatives, choose based on what is practical in your save: whether you are already in the region, whether the route requires a purchase or theft, and whether a chapter or puzzle gate applies. For example, the listed Ivynook bow book requires opening a vine-blocked entrance, while Rhett’s Vol. I route is a shop purchase. Check for duplicate-copy notes before making a longer trip; MapMaster says a single copy registers the shared blueprint set.
