You can launch Taxi Work in GTA Online with a Taxi, Taxi Custom, a Willard Eudora or Classique Broadway wearing a Taxi livery, or a drift-tuned Übermacht Cypher wearing the Drift Taxi livery. You do not need to own one: go to the Downtown Cab Co. map marker to start in a company taxi.

Do you need to own one of these cars?
No. Rockstar says players without a vehicle of their own can go to the Downtown Cab Co. marker on the map and jump into a taxi to begin. The company-taxi route means buying or modifying a vehicle is optional if your goal is simply to try Taxi Work. Rockstar’s Taxi Work announcement
Which modifications matter?
Taxi liveries for the Eudora and Broadway
The Willard Eudora and Classique Broadway are eligible when they use Taxi liveries. Their taxi-like appearance alone is not enough to establish eligibility; Rockstar’s announcement specifies the livery condition.

Drift tuning and livery for the Cypher
The Cypher option requires both drift tuning and the Drift Taxi livery. Rockstar’s Title Update 1.71 notes explicitly describe launching Taxi Work while driving that configured vehicle.
Does the Annis Hardy work for Taxi Work?
Rockstar’s Title Update 1.71 notes mention the Annis Hardy as receiving custom drift tune upgrades, but do not say it can launch Taxi Work. Is this a complete permanent list?
These are the vehicles confirmed by the cited Rockstar material: the 2023 announcement names the Taxi, Taxi Custom, Eudora and Broadway, and the August 28, 2025 Title Update 1.71 notes add the drift-tuned Cypher with its Drift Taxi livery.
