Black Flag Resynced: the announced 2026 game
Ubisoft announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for July 9, 2026, for PS5 and PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, PC and streaming services. The date has passed, but Ubisoft’s announcement is not post-launch confirmation; check a current Ubisoft launch or support page for the game’s actual status. The announcement describes a faithful recreation built on a newer version of the Anvil engine, led by Ubisoft Singapore with original developers returning.
Ubisoft’s announced changes include an overhauled graphical presentation, ray-traced lighting and reflections, console 60 FPS options, new Jackdaw officers and ship customization, added missions and scenes, revised combat, stealth, parkour and naval systems, new shanties, and dynamic weather. These are product descriptions, not independent performance results. Ubisoft also lists minimum and recommended Windows specifications on its Black Flag Resynced page.

Shadows: support winds down gradually
Ubisoft said in March that Assassin’s Creed Shadows was entering its final phase of support. The company described a move toward smaller, less frequent updates while leaving room for additional surprises. It did not say support ended in March, nor did it provide a schedule for the remaining updates.
HEXE: a darker, story-led project
Ubisoft describes Codename HEXE as a “unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience” set during a pivotal historical moment. A veteran team at Ubisoft Montreal is developing it. Jean Guesdon has taken the creative director role alongside his Head of Content responsibilities. Ubisoft said the team needed time to realize its ambitious vision and would stay quiet about the project longer; its March update gave no release window.

INVICTUS: PvP multiplayer, still in development
Ubisoft says Codename INVICTUS is a PvP multiplayer experience led by a dedicated team of For Honor veterans at Ubisoft Montreal. The company describes its development as “test and learn” and says it is considering earlier player feedback. Ubisoft cautioned that the project is not quite what rumors have suggested, so rumored mechanics or dates should not be treated as confirmed.

Ubisoft said it has several other projects at different stages of development, including the mobile project Assassin’s Creed Jade. It also said it was looking into bringing co-op back to the franchise. Neither statement announces a specific game or 2026 launch. Ubisoft mentioned pivoting away from an early project but did not identify it in the update.
Unity and other franchise activity
Ubisoft announced a free 60 FPS patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, saying it would arrive the day after the March update. That announcement does not independently confirm delivery of the patch. Ubisoft’s news index also lists 2026 items such as a Watcher of Realms crossover, a Philips Ambilight partnership, an “Echoes of History” AMA, a music collection and a historical exhibit with companion apps. Consult each individual announcement for details such as terms and availability.

What is known about Netflix’s Assassin’s Creed series?
Netflix says production began in Rome, primarily at Cinecittà Studios. The original story is set in 64 AD, during the Roman Empire, and centers on a secret conflict between factions pursuing control and manipulation and those defending free will. Netflix’s April update did not announce a release date.
Roberto Patino and David Wiener are named as creators, showrunners and executive producers. The announced ensemble includes Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, Tanzyn Crawford, Nabhaan Rizwan, Claes Bang, Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris and Corrado Invernizzi.

That is Netflix’s official series description, not a plot summary of the games. Netflix Tudum also says the franchise had sold more than 230 million units; that figure is attributed to Netflix’s April 1, 2026 explainer and is not presented there as a separately sourced or newly measured 2026 result.
How to read the 2026 lineup
The announcements point to very different kinds of Assassin’s Creed projects, but only Black Flag Resynced had a specific 2026 date in the cited updates. The date has passed and requires current confirmation; the remaining projects below had no release dates in those updates.
- Recreation: Black Flag Resynced, announced for consoles, PC and streaming services.
- Narrative game: HEXE, described as darker and story-focused.
- Competitive multiplayer: INVICTUS, described as PvP.
- Mobile: Jade, listed among projects in development.
