EA Play gives you The Sims 4 EA Play Edition, which includes the Get to Work Expansion Pack. EA Play Pro gives you The Sims 4 EA Play Pro Edition, which includes Get to Work and The Sims 4 Kids Room Stuff. The Sims 4 base game is free, so you do not need a membership to play it. The membership matters only if you want the bundled packs or the other member benefits.
What each membership includes
EA’s help center describes a separate Sims 4 edition for each membership tier. The table below lists the packs named for each edition.

Pro therefore adds one stuff pack on top of what standard EA Play includes. If you already own Get to Work, that pack will not add anything new to your library, and the Pro tier’s extra value comes down to Kids Room Stuff and the other Pro benefits.
Why older guides list a different Pro pack
EA’s original 2022 launch announcement described the Pro edition as including Toddler Stuff rather than Kids Room Stuff. The current help listing names Kids Room Stuff. If you find a guide or old social post that mentions Toddler Stuff as part of Pro, it reflects the 2022 description. Use the current help listing to confirm what the edition contains today.

The base game is free
EA’s help article on downloading the Sims 4 Base Game states that the base game is free to play across all platforms. Membership is therefore an add-on, not an entry requirement. Before subscribing, check which packs you already own, because the membership only helps if the bundled packs are ones you would otherwise buy.
Other benefits attached to membership
Beyond the bundled packs, EA lists several benefits. Their terms differ by platform and tier, so treat each one as conditional.

- 10% discount on EA digital purchases. EA’s Sims-specific membership page says this discount covers Sims 4 expansion packs, game downloads and DLC. It is a discount on purchases, not an extra pack.
- Play List access. EA’s PC membership guidance lists access to the Play List as a member benefit.
- New-game trials. The same PC guidance describes select new-game trials of up to 10 hours. Not every game is included, so the trial list needs to be checked on EA’s side.
- Members-only rewards and content. EA describes in-game rewards and other content available only to members, with the specific items depending on the platform and tier.
Platform and region limits
EA Play Pro on PC is available only through the EA app. It is not sold through Steam or Epic. EA’s help center also notes that Pro availability is limited in some regions. If you play Sims 4 on Steam or Epic, you will need to subscribe through the EA app to get Pro on PC, and if you live in an unsupported region you may not be able to subscribe at all. Check the country on the signup page before you assume Pro is available to you.
Stack & Save discounts do not combine with membership
EA’s help article on Sims 4 Stack & Save discounts in the EA app says those discounts cannot be combined with EA Play membership discounts. If you are weighing a Stack & Save offer against the 10% member discount, you must choose one. Compare the total at checkout rather than assuming the two stack.

Checklist before you subscribe
- Confirm which Sims 4 packs you already own, so you do not pay for Get to Work or Kids Room Stuff twice.
- Pick the tier by the packs you will use: standard EA Play covers Get to Work; Pro adds Kids Room Stuff.
- If you play on PC, decide whether to buy through the EA app, since Pro on PC is sold only there.
- Check your country on the signup page, because Pro availability is limited in some regions.
- Compare any Stack & Save offer against the membership discount, since the two cannot be combined.
Verdict
If you want Get to Work and do not already own it, EA Play is the membership that matches. EA Play Pro is worth considering only if you also want Kids Room Stuff and the other Pro benefits in your region and on your platform. Otherwise, the base game is free and buying individual packs may cost less.
