How do you use the tick’s weakness?
Choose a weapon that actually deals Spicy damage. The wiki names the Spicy Coaltana as an effective option, and its damage-type reference explains that weapons have fixed damage types. A weapon’s appearance or name alone is not enough to establish its damage type; check its listed type in-game.

The tick entry describes individual ticks as relatively simple to block and identifies swarms as the main danger. It recommends keeping your distance and using upgraded tier 2 or tier 3 armor. These are the wiki’s strategy recommendations, not independently tested results; use the spacing and armor that suit your equipment and encounter.
