The Royal Edition is the base game of Kingdom Come: Deliverance with all five released DLC packs included. It does not change the main game. If you already own the base game, the Royal Edition only adds content you could also buy separately, so the real decision is whether the five packs are worth buying as one bundle on your platform.
What the Royal Edition includes
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Royal Edition bundles the base game with five downloadable content packs. Xbox Wire announced the Royal Edition for Xbox One on June 10, 2019, and its description of each pack is the clearest official summary of what each one adds:

| DLC pack | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Treasures of the Past | Treasure maps that lead to hidden treasures associated with exiled lords |
| From the Ashes | Build a village from the ground up |
| The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon | Help Sir Hans pursue a romantic interest |
| Band of Bastards | Join Henry and a mercenary band hired to deal with raids on Sir Radzig’s estates |
| A Woman’s Lot | Play as Theresa in a standalone quest about the raid and its aftermath |
Each pack is an add-on set inside the same game world. None of them is a separate version of the game.
Base game versus Royal Edition
The base game is an open-world role-playing game set in medieval Europe. It follows Henry, a blacksmith’s son, after an attack takes his family and village. According to the PlayStation Store listing (US), the Royal Edition keeps that same story and adds the DLC on top.

The current-generation update
PLAION’s Player Support FAQ gives February 13, 2026 as the release date for the next-generation update. It lists Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, including PS5 Pro, as supported systems. The update applies to the base game, the Royal Edition, the DLC Collection, and each of the five DLC packs. It is therefore not a bonus that comes only with the Royal Edition.
Who gets the update, and what carries over
- Existing PS4 and Xbox One owners receive the update free of charge.
- Owners can keep playing on their prior-generation consoles if they prefer.
- Save progress carries over automatically, according to PLAION.
Performance target
PLAION describes a single optimized console experience targeting up to 60 FPS, with no separate Performance or Quality modes. That is the publisher’s stated target, not an independent test. The US PlayStation Store description of the PS5 version also lists 4K resolution, improved framerate, and high-resolution textures. These are store descriptions, not measured results.
Rank #2
- Massive realistic open world: Majestic castles, vast fields, all rendered in stunning high-end graphics
- Non-linear story: Solve quests in multiple ways, then face the consequences of your decisions
- character development: Choose your equipment, improve your skills and earn new perks
Physical availability
PLAION said a physical edition for players who do not already own the game and want to play on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S would arrive later in 2026. Digital availability and physical stock do not always match, so check your local listings to confirm whether a physical copy is out and in stock in your region.
Which version to buy
If you are new to the game
Buy the Royal Edition listing for your platform. It is the only single purchase that includes the base game and all five packs. Whether it costs less than buying the base game and individual packs depends on current regional pricing, and no general value claim holds across regions or sales.
Rank #3
- Includes Kingdom Come: Deliverance + all previously released DLC (Treasures of the Past, From the Ashes, The Amorous Adventures of Sir Hans Capon, Band of Bastards)
- Includes all new DLC “A Woman's Lot” where you play as “Theresa” in a standalone questline
- Massive realistic open world all rendered in stunning high end graphics
- In a dynamic world, your actions influence the reactions of the people around you
- Choose your weapons and combat style in battles that are as thrilling as they are merciless
If you already own the base game
Compare the price of the Royal Edition with the DLC Collection on Xbox, or with the individual packs on any platform. The DLC Collection contains the same five packs as the Royal Edition. The store pages do not state whether owning the base game lowers the Royal Edition price, so check the checkout before buying.
If you are choosing a console version
Check the platform and generation on the store page before you buy. Because the update applies across the base game, the Royal Edition, and the DLC, your choice of edition does not change whether you get the update. The choice that does matter is the platform and format you want: digital is available now on the stores, while physical copies for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S were announced for later in 2026.
