The Drunk seed is a special world seed in Terraria that generates a world containing both Corruption and Crimson, the two world evils. To use it, enter 5162020 in the World Seed field when you create a new world. The seed is also called the Drunk World seed.
How to activate the Drunk seed
- From the main menu, choose the option to create a new world.
- In the world creation screen, locate the World Seed field.
- Type 5162020 into that field and finish creating the world.
- Listen for the in-game sound effect. The Terraria Wiki’s special world seeds page says special seeds produce a sound effect when activated, so it works as a confirmation cue.
The Drunk seed is not an item and is not planted. It is a code typed into world creation, and it works only on a new world. Seeds are entered in this field generally, as described on the Terraria Wiki’s World Seed page.

Special seeds are read as numbers, so the Terraria Wiki notes that leading zeroes can be added, such as 05162020, without changing the activation. If a seed does not behave as expected, re-enter it exactly as 5162020 before assuming a problem with the game.
What the Drunk seed changes
The clearest documented feature is that a Drunk World contains both Corruption and Crimson. In normal worlds, a player usually encounters one of these two evils, so the combination is what gives this seed its reputation. The Terraria Wiki’s Drunk page describes it with this flavor text: “Crimson & Corruption? Together? Madness. This is the land of world generation gone wild, leading to a Terraria adventure like no other! Go home worldgen, you’re drunk!” That is in-game style wording written for the wiki, not a quotation from the game’s developers.

The wiki’s special-seed overview also says special seeds can affect a world’s characteristics and some mechanics during play, not only its layout. This article does not attempt a complete list of Drunk-specific generation changes, because the sources available for it do not confirm one. If you want to know every difference, play a Drunk World and compare it to a standard world, or check the wiki page for the latest details.
Why the number 5162020?
According to the Drunk page, the number refers to May 16, 2020. The page presents this as Terraria’s ninth birthday and the release date of version 1.4.0.1. That explanation comes from the wiki, so treat it as the wiki’s account rather than an official statement from the developers.

Platforms and versions

It does not provide a version-by-version breakdown, so the seed’s behavior on a specific build is not confirmed here. If you need to match a particular version or platform, check the current wiki page before relying on a specific detail.
