The Savage Lynel Crusher is the strongest ordinary weapon in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild by unmodified base attack: it has 78 attack and 35 durability. But “strongest” changes with the measure. A sufficiently large attack bonus can put the Royal Guard’s Claymore ahead, Ancient Proficiency can make an Ancient Battle Axe++ hit harder against eligible enemies, and the Boulder Breaker lasts longer before breaking.
Which weapon has the highest base attack?
The Savage Lynel Crusher has 78 base attack and 35 base durability, the highest base attack among the ordinary weapons compared by Gamer Guides and Zelda Dungeon. Its high attack comes with relatively modest durability, so it is the clearest answer only when the question is about unmodified attack rather than damage over time or a specific enemy matchup.
White-Maned and Silver Lynels can wield Savage Lynel Crushers; Zelda Dungeon also lists Golden Lynels. Gamer Guides gives examples of Lynel locations north of Great Hyrule Forest and in Tabantha Tundra. Which weapon a Lynel carries can depend on the enemy and game progression.
Can another weapon hit harder?
Royal Guard’s Claymore with an attack bonus
A Royal Guard’s Claymore can exceed the Crusher’s displayed attack when it has a sufficiently large attack bonus. That makes it a conditional peak-attack contender, not a universal winner: the comparison depends on the weapon’s bonus. Zelda’s Palace lists the Claymore in Hyrule Castle’s Armory. Ancient Battle Axe++ with Ancient Proficiency
Ancient Proficiency can push an Ancient Battle Axe++ above the other candidates against eligible enemies. The result depends on the target and equipment setup, so there is no single attack ranking that applies to every fight. Which weapon deals more damage before breaking?
The Boulder Breaker trades peak attack for staying power: it has 60 attack and 60 durability, compared with the Savage Lynel Crusher’s 78 attack and 35 durability. Gamer Guides describes the Boulder Breaker as arguably the strongest crusher by damage dealt before breaking and notes its high durability. That makes it a practical choice when you value sustained use more than one heavy hit.

Not by base attack in this comparison. The Master Sword is a special-case choice for particular encounters: Nintendo’s Explorer’s Guide says its power doubles against Calamity Ganon and those under his control, including Guardians. That makes it especially relevant for those fights, but does not make it the highest-base-attack weapon overall. The guide is available as a Nintendo Explorer’s Guide PDF; its relevant statement is paraphrased here.
