Grounded 2’s headline features—rideable insect Buggies, the Omni-Tool, a larger park, and revised combat—were announced for its Game Preview launch, not as future additions. Updates since launch have added Coziness, an upgraded PEEP.R 2K, performance options, and the Toxic Tangle garden biome. Specific future features or dates are not confirmed by the official roadmap information currently available in the cited sources.
What Grounded 2 introduced at launch
Grounded 2 is a co-op survival adventure set in Brookhollow Park, two years after the first game. In its June 8, 2025 announcement, Xbox Wire described the starting zone as nearly the scale of the first game’s entire backyard map, with a 1992 suburban wilderness setting, new biomes, reworked creatures, and new threats. Xbox Wire’s announcement framed these as features of the Game Preview game.
Buggies: insect allies for more than riding
Buggies are tamable insects that can be ridden and help with building, gathering, exploration, and combat. For example, the Red Ant Buggy can assist with construction, while the Orb Weaver Buggy can stun enemies. Their role is functional as well as transport: they are companions intended to help players survive the park.
The Omni-Tool combines four tools
The Omni-Tool brings hammer, axe, shovel, and wrench functions together in one tool, reducing the need to carry those separate items in a backpack.

A larger park, new threats, and Combat 2.0
Brookhollow Park expands the setting with new biomes and creature encounters. The launch announcement also highlighted a cockroach enemy capable of blocking attacks and described Combat 2.0 as adding dodging and smarter enemy behavior. The game’s initial launch story was described as partial, rather than a complete story.
Features added or described in later updates
Some developments described as “coming” in early coverage have since shipped. Obsidian’s dated update posts provide the clearest distinction between those additions and anything still prospective.

What is confirmed about future Grounded 2 features?
The June 2025 announcement said Obsidian would publish a public roadmap and shape updates with player feedback. However, the roadmap page’s accessible text in the cited review did not expose its entries. The available sources therefore do not establish a specific next biome, creature, boss, feature, or release date. Treat those details as unconfirmed unless a dated developer announcement names them.
