The Battlefield 6 Open Beta could be pre-loaded starting August 4, 2025 at 15:00 UTC (8:00 a.m. PT). Those dates have passed. As of October 2026, there is no preload or beta access to claim, and the beta windows below are historical.
Battlefield 6 beta schedule at a glance
Electronic Arts announced the full Open Beta timetable on July 31, 2025. Each phase opened at a fixed UTC time, which is the reference point EA used for every date in the announcement.
| Phase | Start | End | Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-load | August 4, 2025, 15:00 UTC (8:00 a.m. PT) | Not stated as a closing time; the game was available to start during the Open Beta Weekends | Pre-download of the beta client ahead of play |
| Early Access | August 7, 2025, 8:00 UTC (1:00 a.m. PT) | Ran until the first Open Beta Weekend began | Battlefield Labs registrants who signed up before July 31, 2025 with their registered EA Account, or viewers who unlocked it by watching selected creators during the July 31 Twitch reveal streams |
| Open Beta Weekend 1 | August 9, 2025, 8:00 UTC (1:00 a.m. PT) | August 11, 2025, 8:00 UTC (1:00 a.m. PT) | Open to anyone; EA said no code was needed |
| Open Beta Weekend 2 | August 14, 2025, 8:00 UTC (1:00 a.m. PT) | August 18, 2025, 8:00 UTC (1:00 a.m. PT) | Open to anyone; EA said no code was needed |
How the preload differed from playing
The preload and the play windows were separate steps. EA’s announcement stated the game could be pre-loaded from August 4, 2025 at 15:00 UTC and played during the Open Beta Weekends. The preload was a download, so it did not unlock play before the weekends or Early Access. Players who wanted to join on the first day of play still needed to be inside one of the access groups listed above.
Early Access
Early Access was the only phase before the public weekends that required a route in. EA offered two: a Battlefield Labs registration completed before July 31, 2025, which let registrants use their EA Account, and watching selected creators during the July 31 Twitch reveal streams. Anyone outside those two groups had to wait for Weekend 1.

Platforms and where the beta was offered
The beta was listed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. On PC, the listed storefronts were Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
Why the beta can’t be preloaded now
The beta client was a time-limited download, and every listed window has closed. Battlefield 6 released as a full game on October 10, 2025, available physically and digitally on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, according to EA’s FAQ. If you want to play the game itself, that is a separate purchase from the beta, and availability and pricing should be checked on the storefront you plan to use.
