Warzone Ranked launched on February 5, 2026, as Ranked Play: Resurgence, later in the day after the Season 02 update rolled out. It is no longer a future release. Season 06 patch notes dated October 7, 2026 still list Ranked Play Resurgence as a current competitive mode, and that was the status as of October 8, 2026.
When Ranked Play launched
Raven Software tied the launch to the Season 02 update. The official Season 02 patch notes state: “Ranked Play will launch later into the day following the rollout of the Season 02 update on February 5th, 2026.” (Call of Duty: Warzone Season 02 Patch Notes)
“Later into the day” is the only timing the notes give. No clock time was published, so if you need the exact hour in your time zone, you will have to rely on player reports or community timestamps rather than an official figure.
Is Ranked live in Season 06?
Yes. The Season 06 patch notes, dated October 7, 2026, describe Ranked Play Resurgence as part of the current cycle. That cycle runs three weeks of normal Ranked play followed by one week of Ranked Series. The notes do not give an exact end date for the Ranked Series week, so check the current patch notes or in-game season information for when the cycle closes.

How to unlock Ranked
Access to Ranked depends on placing near the top of matches. Players must record top placements in at least 20 matches. The notes define a qualifying top placement by mode:

Only placements in the first two modes count. Boot Camp and Casual results do not contribute, so a player who relies on those modes will need to qualify through Resurgence or Battle Royale instead.
Launch format
The Season 02 launch version of Ranked Play Resurgence used Haven’s Hollow with Trios squads and 48 players. The launch notes also updated weapon restrictions to the Black Ops 7 set. These were launch-season settings, so they should not be treated as the permanent or current rules. For active restrictions, check the current season’s patch notes and the in-game rules.

How Skill Rating and divisions work
Activision’s support article on Ranked Play in Warzone describes the core progression system:
- Earning SR: Skill Rating comes from outlasting other squads, from eliminations, and from in-match challenges.
- Elimination adjustments: The SR you gain from an elimination is adjusted based on the defeated opponent’s Skill Division.
- Loadout rules: The support page lists general restrictions on weapons, perks, and loadout slots. Those are the baseline rules, and current patch notes can change them.

Keep these Season 06 changes separate from the February 2026 launch rules when you compare how Ranked worked at launch and how it works now.
PC requirements
The support article says PC Ranked play uses stronger Remote Attestation in partnership with Microsoft, built on TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements. The article presents this as part of the launch requirements. Confirm your platform’s current requirements before you troubleshoot access or set up a PC, because these requirements are the kind of detail that can change between seasons.
