For Horde characters, the portal to Zandalar is in Orgrimmar’s portal room, just inside the city’s front gates. Look for the portal to Dazar’alor, the Horde hub in Zuldazar on Zandalar.
Where to find the Horde portal in Orgrimmar
- Travel to Orgrimmar.
- Enter the portal room just inside the front gates, between Durotar and the Valley of Strength.
- Walk down the room’s main corridor and look for the portal to Dazar’alor.
Blizzard describes the Orgrimmar portal room as being just inside the front gates. Blizzard’s portal-room announcement says the faction’s gateways were consolidated there. A more specific landmark places the room between Durotar and the Valley of Strength. Blizzard forum post
Why the destination is called Dazar’alor
Zandalar is the region; Dazar’alor is its Horde city hub in Zuldazar. The in-game portal is therefore identified by its destination, Dazar’alor, rather than simply labeled “Zandalar.” Blizzard’s Zuldazar guide describes the city and its connections to other Horde locations.
Alliance characters use a different route
The Orgrimmar-to-Dazar’alor portal is a Horde route, not a general portal for both factions. Alliance travel to Zandalar is associated with the Battle for Azeroth War Campaign and travel options from Boralus. Which options are available depends on the character’s progress. Blizzard’s Battle for Azeroth catch-up guide distinguishes the faction bases: Dazar’alor for Horde and Boralus for Alliance. A route guide provides further practical directions.

If the portal is missing or inactive
Check the character’s Battle for Azeroth introduction and current quest state. Progression or phasing can affect which travel options appear. Blizzard’s catch-up guide links establishing the Horde base with setting up a portal to Dazar’alor, but it does not establish one current unlock checklist that applies to every character. Historical level or quest requirements should not be assumed to be universal today.
