Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIn the Calamity Mod for Terraria, the enemy older guides call the Charred Slime is now named Infernal Congealment. It spawns in the Brimstone Crag biome after you defeat the Brimstone Elemental.
How to find it
- Defeat the Brimstone Elemental. The Calamity Mod Wiki’s history for this enemy records that version 1.4.4.002 moved its unlock condition to this boss, so earlier versions may have used a different requirement.
- Travel to the Brimstone Crag, the volcanic biome where the enemy is found.
- Explore the Crag after the boss is down. The current wiki page for the enemy places it there, and the Brimstone Crag page lists it among that biome’s post-boss inhabitants. The wiki sources used here do not give spawn rates or any additional trigger conditions, so treat the boss and biome as the only established requirements.
Why you may see two names
The enemy was called Charred Slime in earlier versions. The Calamity Mod Wiki’s history records the rename to Infernal Congealment in version 2.0.3.001. The wiki page now lives under the new name and redirects from the old one, so searching either name will usually lead to the same entry. Forum posts, videos, and older guides may still use “Charred Slime” for the same creature.

Versions and what is confirmed
The wiki history confirms two changes: the unlock moving to the Brimstone Elemental in 1.4.4.002, and the rename in 2.0.3.001. The sources used here do not state a release date for either change, and they do not identify the latest released version of the mod. If the enemy does not appear where described, compare your mod version with the wiki’s version notes before assuming the spawn method is wrong.
Progression context
The current wiki page lists Infernal Suevite as a drop from this enemy. It also states that the enemy begins dropping Bloodstone after Providence is defeated. Those drop details come from the wiki and are useful for planning, but they are separate from the spawn requirement.
