Golden Saints in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind are most reliably found at a handful of named dungeons. Players also report a named Saint tied to the Azura’s Star quest and random Saints in Daedric ruins and the Grazelands, though the random encounters depend on your character level and are not guaranteed. The list below separates the locations that players report consistently from the claims that community discussion has not settled.
Fixed encounters: dungeons to check first
If you want a known destination, start with the fixed locations below. These are the places that appear most consistently across community discussion. The details come from player reports and a fan-maintained wiki, not from a developer-published list, so treat them as strong leads rather than a guarantee for every playthrough.

Staada and the Azura’s Star quest
Staada is a named Golden Saint associated with the Azura’s Star quest. A community post places her on an island in western Sheogorad. Discussion does not establish whether you must have started the quest before she appears, so if you are hunting for her specifically, check your quest log and the quest’s progress before assuming she will be there.
Random encounters: where to hunt
Random Golden Saints are generated by character level rather than placed at a fixed point. Players repeatedly recommend the following areas when they want to hunt them.
#1 Best Overall
- Players can take their existing Morrowind characters and save games and continue their adventures in the Morrowind Game of the Year edition - a first for a console game like this
- Adds up to 80 hours of new gameplay and quests for current Morrowind players
- Explore the forests, caves, and snow-covered wastelands of the island of Solstheim
- Delve into new, epic-sized dungeons and visit the Capital City of Mournhold and the Clockwork City of Sotha Sil
- Fight new creatures including bears and wolves, lich lords and goblins, ice minions and spriggans
Grazelands
The Grazelands, particularly the northeastern part of the map, are the area most often recommended for Daedra and Golden Saint hunting. Expect to spend time searching rather than expecting an encounter on arrival.
Daedric ruins
Daedric ruins are the other common hunting ground. Reports describe these random spawns as level-dependent, so a ruin that was empty early in a playthrough may hold an encounter once your level rises.
Rank #2
- 1 Player
- RPG
- Explore another world and go anywhere you want
- Live another life and play any character you can imagine
- Dolby Digital
Molag Mar and Molag Amur
A community forum post lists the Molag Mar region, described there as parts of Molag Amur, as a possible leveled area. The regional label is the poster’s wording. It does not mean every location in the region will produce a Saint, so search the specific ruins and open ground rather than the whole area.
What player levels do the reports suggest?
Community reports disagree on the level at which random Saints begin to appear, and no published source settles the question.
Recommended Free Tools
- One location list says a randomly generated Golden Saint can appear from player level 14.
- Another discussion reports that sightings become more common around level 18 to 20.
Neither figure is a published statistic or a verified rule. If you are working from a level target, treat 14 as the earliest reported threshold and 18 to 20 as a range players associate with more frequent appearances, then confirm in your own game.
Ancestral tombs: possible leveled spawns
Three ancestral tombs are reported to contain leveled Daedra that can generate as Golden Saints. None of them is a guaranteed Saint on every visit.
Rank #4
- Bundle of popular RPG and two expansion sets
- Adds 80 hours of gameplay and quests beyond Morrowind
- Explore the tundra of Solstheim and the cities of Mournhold and Sotha Sil
- Many new monsters
- For one player
- Indalen Ancestral Tomb, near Caldera: the respawning leveled Daedra is reported in the largest room, by the potion and ash pit.
- Redas Ancestral Tomb: contains leveled Daedra with the capability to appear as Golden Saints.
- Ravel Ancestral Tomb: contains leveled Daedra with the same reported capability.
Tombs are worth revisiting, but a tomb with a leveled Daedra spawn point is a possibility, not a Saint you can count on.
A practical hunting approach
- Visit the fixed dungeons first: Ald Daedroth (Antechamber and Inner Shrine), Bal Ur (Underground), Ibar-Dad, Norenen-dur (Citadel of Myn Dhur), and Odrosal (Dwemer Training Academy).
- If you are after Staada, check the Azura’s Star quest and look for her on the island in western Sheogorad that community posts describe.
- Once your level is in the range players report, search Daedric ruins and the northeastern Grazelands, returning to the same ruins after your level changes.
- Revisit the Indalen, Redas, and Ravel tombs as a secondary option, checking the largest room in Indalen first.
An in-game line about the Saints
The Elder Scrolls Wiki quotes an in-game line attributed to the character Vala Catraso: “These magical winged females are spawn of Sheogorath. Their hearts have modest magical properties.” This is dialogue relayed through a fan-maintained wiki, not an independently verified developer statement, but it gives useful context for the Saints’ Daedric origins.
Best Value
- You can choose to be a mighty hero and go on a great quest, or become a thief and use the scum of the city to gain power for yourself
- Explore incredibly huge game maps with over 30 unique cities & villages, plus unique areas like the inside of a volcano
- Use the terrain editor to adjust the land types to suit your gaming needs
- All the aspects of great gameplay with incredible graphics!
What is not established
No published spawn rate or frequency study for Golden Saints was found in the available community and wiki sources. Level thresholds, the exact quest prerequisite for Staada, and whether each random area will produce a Saint on a given visit all remain unconfirmed. The locations above are the most consistently reported places to look, and that is the extent of what the evidence supports.
