Each faction has one quartermaster outside the battleground in Alterac Mountains and another at its base inside AV; the paired vendors sell the same items. The WoW Classic guide lists the locations and pairings.
Alliance: Stormpike quartermasters
- Outside AV: Thanthaldis Snowgleam is in Alterac Mountains.
- Inside AV: Gaelden Hammersmith is in Dun Baldar South Bunker.
Horde: Frostwolf quartermasters
- Outside AV: Jekyll Flandring is in Alterac Mountains.
- Inside AV: Grunnda Wolfheart is inside the Frostwolf base.
Which one should you visit?
If you are already in a match, go to your faction’s base and use its inside quartermaster. Before entering AV, visit your faction’s vendor in Alterac Mountains. The inside and outside vendors for each faction sell the same items, so choose based on where you are. The guide’s vendor listings also note that some reward availability may depend on the game phase.
Availability can depend on the Classic version
These are the Alterac Valley locations given by a WoW Classic guide dated December 13, 2025. “Classic” covers more than one release or version, and item availability can vary by phase; check in-game if you are looking for a particular reward. Historical patch notes reproduced in a World of Warcraft forum post say that additional items were added to the quartermasters in the entrance tunnels and that item types depended on reputation. That is historical context, not a current vendor listing: forum post reproducing the patch notes.
