Cotton Spores were a limited-time event item in Pokémon Pokopia. Players picked them up on Dream Islands and exchanged them at Hoppip’s shop in a Pokémon Center for picnic-themed items. The event ran from March 10, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. to March 25, 2026, at 4:59 p.m. local time. It has since ended, so the Cotton Spores cannot be collected through the event as announced.
Current status of the Cotton Spores event
The Pokémon Company International announcement set the schedule above and stated that the event was not available on Cloud Islands and required a rebuilt Pokémon Center. Nintendo Life reports that the event is no longer running. The same announcement described the event’s Pokémon as unavailable outside it: “These Pokémon can’t be encountered outside of this event, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to welcome these new friends to your towns.”
Nintendo Life also mentions changing the system clock as a possible way to reopen the event. Official support material we could review does not confirm that this works on current software, so do not treat it as a reliable route. If you are reading this after the event window, plan on the Cotton Spores being unavailable.
Where Cotton Spores were found
Dream Island is the listed location for Cotton Spores in the Serebii item database. Nintendo Life describes the collection process as follows:
#1 Best Overall
- Shape the world and build a cozy new life with Pokémon as a Ditto transformed to look like a human.
- Use other Pokémon’s moves, like Bulbasaur’s Leafage, to revitalize and navigate the world around you.
- Meet and befriend more Pokémon as you help nature flourish.
- Gather materials to create items and furniture, till the fields to grow delicious crops, build homes for the Pokémon you meet, and more—there’s so much to do!
- Experience a world with varied weather, real-time days and nights, and other surprises.
- Travel to a Dream Island during the event window on a town with a rebuilt Pokémon Center. Cloud Islands were excluded.
- Pick up the visible Cotton Spores individually, or use suction to collect them in bulk.
- Check caves and buildings on the island for less visible clusters.
No official collection yield has been published. Guides have offered per-visit estimates, but those depend on how much of the island you cover, so no fixed amount per island or per visit should be treated as guaranteed.
The item description in Serebii’s database reads: “Small, white tufts of cotton. Bring them to Hoppip!” The same database states that Cotton Spores cannot be 3D printed.

What Cotton Spores were used for
Cotton Spores were event currency for Hoppip’s Pokémon Center shop, not a general crafting material. They are also distinct from ordinary Fluff, which is a separate resource. Each purchase cost 5, 10, or 15 spores, depending on the item. According to The Pokémon Company International, the purchased picnic-themed furniture let players build habitats to befriend Skiploom and Jumpluff. Hoppip was also part of the event.
Shop items and their habitat use
The table below lists each shop item with its cost and whether Nintendo Life lists it as part of an event habitat.

Event habitat combinations
- Yellow Carpet: four Dandy Flowers. Hoppip is associated with this habitat, and Nintendo Life says Hoppip was already part of the event town. The habitat can also attract Skiploom and Jumpluff, though at lower likelihoods.
- Field-trip Friends: Flower Backpack, Hoppip Water Bottle, and Lunch Box. Nintendo Life identifies this as the Skiploom habitat.
- Dandelion Lunchtime: one Dandy Flower, Lunch Box, Flower Cushion, and Flowery Table Setting. Nintendo Life identifies this as the Jumpluff habitat.
If you missed the event
Once the window closed, the Cotton Spores and the event shop purchases tied to them were no longer part of the official event schedule. Nintendo Life’s habitat and price details remain useful as a record of how the event worked, but they describe an event that is over.
