She fights with Gauntlets and an Orb. The profile deliberately leaves open how she got her power, so the sections below separate what the official material states from what it leaves unresolved.
Petra’s role in Brawlhalla
Petra is one of Brawlhalla’s legends, the fighters players choose before a match. Her identity in the game’s lore is built around one idea: she is “The Darkheart,” a figure tied to the mysterious ore that drives much of Terminus’s story. Her official legend profile is the main source for her biography, and it is the basis for everything about her background in this article.
Her origin in Terminus
According to the official profile, Petra was born in Terminus and grew up there. The profile describes Terminus as a chaotic nexus dimension and as her home. Her biography traces a rise through the local underworld:
- Early life: as a young street urchin, she traded forbidden goods.
- Age sixteen: she took over her street gang.
- Age eighteen: the Incarnates ran the Raptor Pits and Cyborg Rings.
- Age nineteen: her gang won control of a Darkheart quarry.
These milestones are fictional biography from the official profile, not facts about the game’s design or a claim about how the character performs in play.

The Darkheart ore and why Terminus was sealed
The profile’s lore says Terminus was once a mine and was the only source of Darkheart, described as a cryptic ore, anywhere in the multiverse. Because the ore’s power was dangerous, the gods folded Terminus into its own dimension to quarantine it. Petra’s story sits inside that history, which is why her legend title points directly at the ore.
How Petra got her power: an open question
The profile gives two possible explanations for Petra’s Darkheart power and does not choose between them. In one account, Darkheart infected her. In the other, she unlocked the power herself. Treat both as official possibilities rather than settled canon. Any article, guide, or conversation that states one as the confirmed origin is going beyond what the profile says.

Her arrival in Valhalla
Petra enters Valhalla carrying the power and strength associated with Darkheart. The profile describes her as quarrelsome, violent, brooding, unruly, and well-liked there. It also says her Orb sparring matches with Thor draw crowds and that she is fined for property damage. The profile’s exact line for her first arrival is:
“What’s up, NERDS! Who’s ready to get their butts kicked?.”
