Canonically, none of Lady Dimitrescu’s three daughters is the strongest: Resident Evil Village director Morimasa Sato says, “Each daughter is just as much of a threat as the other.” The game gives Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela different personalities and horror styles, but the official comparison does not rank one above the others.
What the director says about the sisters’ strength
In a May 6, 2021 interview with PlayStation.Blog, director Morimasa Sato was asked which daughter poses the greatest danger to Ethan. His answer was direct: “Each daughter is just as much of a threat as the other.” That is the clearest official answer to who is strongest.

Sato describes the sisters as different kinds of danger rather than stronger and weaker versions of the same threat. The interview does not give them individual strength, speed, durability, or damage rankings, so there is no supported canon power tier that puts one sister at the top.
Why each sister is dangerous in a different way
The daughters’ bodies are made up of insects that merge together. Sato explains that “normal attacks won’t faze them,” which forces Ethan to strategize rather than rely on ordinary attacks. This shared biology establishes why they are unusual opponents, not a difference in power between Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela.

The developers also varied their appearances and personalities so players could tell which daughter was pursuing Ethan. Sato says their personalities convey distinct forms of psychological horror, while their unnatural insect-based bodies provide physical horror. Those distinctions can make one sister feel more frightening to an individual player, but they do not establish that she is objectively stronger.
Is one sister harder to defeat?
That depends on what “strongest” means. A player might mean the most intimidating, the most difficult in a particular encounter, or simply their personal favorite. The official interview settles the broad question of danger—Sato considers them equally threatening—but it does not compare encounter difficulty or publish sister-by-sister combat statistics.

The trio appear in Ethan’s encounters at Castle Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village. In a separate PlayStation gameplay preview, the daughters are presented as part of the castle’s threats. Sato also says the team settled on three daughters after considering how frequently Ethan would encounter them; three offered the best balance for the game. That is an explanation of encounter design, not a hierarchy among the sisters.

There is no canonically strongest Dimitrescu sister. Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela are meant to pose equal threats, with their differing personalities and presentation giving each a distinct horror effect. Any claim that one is stronger is interpretation, not a ranking established by the director’s statement.
