Josh Challies at Insider Gaming reported on November 12, 2025 that AJ Locascio voices Gambit in Marvel Rivals. The article is a casting explainer, not an official cast announcement, so treat the attribution as a press report. As of the reporting, no quotation from Locascio, Marvel, or NetEase about the casting was located.
Which Gambit is in the game
The in-game hero is Remy LeBeau, the Mutant thief from the X-Men line. Marvel’s official Gambit hero page lists him under the name “REMY LEBEAU” with the role “STRATEGIST.” The page describes his kinetic-charged playing cards as explosive projectiles against enemies, or as a way to heal allies.
The page’s story summary places him around a disrupted wedding with Rogue. The Timestream Entanglement interrupts the ceremony, and Gambit then strikes a deal with the Grandmaster involving a contract from the Collector and replacement wedding bands. That backstory is specific to the game’s narrative and should not be read as a summary of Gambit’s broader comic history.

How Gambit’s voice differs across portrayals
Insider Gaming separates the newer portrayals from the original animated series. The table below lists only the voice-actor claims that source makes, with the source attached to each row.

The reporting does not claim that Locascio replaced every earlier Gambit performer, and it should not be read that way. Gambit has been voiced by different actors across different adaptations, so the answer depends on which portrayal you mean.

When Gambit arrived
Marvel’s official Season 5 patch notes say the update began on November 14, 2025 at 09:00 UTC. The same notes describe Gambit as the first of the season’s new heroes to join. Marvel’s official Gambit page is dated November 14, 2025. These are launch-era dates; they describe when the hero arrived, not the current season.

- Confirmed by official Marvel and NetEase pages: the character’s name, role, abilities, story context, and arrival date.
- Reported by Insider Gaming only: AJ Locascio as the voice of Gambit in Marvel Rivals and in X-Men ’97, and Chris Potter as the voice of the original animated series.
- Not confirmed by the sources reviewed: any in-game credit naming the performer. The MobyGames Windows credits listing for the base game does not include Gambit, so it neither confirms nor contradicts the later casting.
If the in-game credits or an official cast list later name a different performer, that credit should take precedence over a press report.
