In Minecraft Bedrock Edition, start with the village: it needs at least 10 villagers and 20 beds, every villager must be linked to a bed, and at least 75% of villagers must have worked at their workstations the previous day. The village must also be within your simulation distance. If those conditions are met, check for a valid spawning space near the village center and for an existing golem that may be counting toward the village’s limit.
Check the village’s villagers, beds, and links
The Minecraft Wiki’s Bedrock iron golem farming guide lists a baseline of at least 10 villagers and 20 beds. These are Bedrock-specific requirements; Java Edition advice about smaller villager groups does not apply.
It also says every villager must be linked to a bed. A bed’s physical location near a villager does not by itself confirm that the villager is linked to it. If you moved beds, changed the village layout, or rebuilt the farm, verify the links rather than assuming they remained intact.
Confirm villagers worked the previous day
The guide says at least 75% of villagers must have worked at their workstations during the previous day. Give villagers access to their linked workstations through a workday before judging a new or rearranged setup.

A Mojang bug-tracker report describes golems continuing to spawn for a day after workstations were removed, then stopping. The report is unresolved, so it documents one reported case—not a general rule or a guarantee that removing workstations will produce that timing: MCPE-147500.
Make sure the village is within simulation distance
The village must be inside a player’s simulation-distance volume for spawning to occur. Simulation distance depends on the world’s setting, so there is no single distance to assume for every Bedrock world and platform. Stay close enough to the village while testing, and check the setting for that world if you are unsure.

Inspect the spawn area around the village center
The guide describes a 17×13×17 search volume centered on the village center: it extends up to 8 blocks horizontally and 6 blocks vertically. A suitable solid support block and enough open space are needed for a golem to spawn within that area.
A farm platform can be valid yet fail to receive spawns if another eligible nearby surface intercepts them. Inspect the whole volume around the village center, not just the platform, and look for spaces where a golem could spawn unnoticed.

Look for a golem already in the village
The guide lists a limit of fewer than one naturally generated or spawned golem per 10 villagers. An existing golem in the village can count against that population-based limit and prevent another from appearing until the count is below it. Search nearby areas as well as the farm platform before rebuilding.

The figures and conditions here come from the community-maintained Minecraft Wiki, rather than an official Mojang mechanics specification. The available sources do not establish a current, official version-by-version mechanics matrix. If the village, work, distance, spawn-space, and golem-count checks all pass, note your Bedrock version and investigate whether an update changed the behavior of your particular setup.
