“Unavailable” in the Epic Games Store and a game missing from your Epic Games Launcher library are different problems. A Store listing may be restricted by ownership, region, or release timing; a missing library entry can stem from the signed-in account, library filters, or the game’s access history. First note where the message appears and whether you previously bought or claimed the game.
What does “unavailable” mean?
Identify which of these situations you have before troubleshooting:
- Store listing: You cannot see or buy a game, or its product page says “Unavailable.”
- Library or installation: A game you expect to own is missing from the Launcher library or cannot be downloaded.
The distinction matters: a Store restriction is not necessarily a Launcher fault, and changing library settings will not remove a developer-controlled regional restriction.
Why a game may be unavailable in the Store
You already own content included in another edition
Epic says a purchase can be blocked when your account already owns content included in the edition you are trying to buy. For example, owning a standard edition may prevent purchasing a higher edition that includes it. Check your account’s library and purchase history before assuming the listing is broken. Epic’s Store availability guidance explains this case.

The game is restricted in your account’s region
Regional availability can be set by the game’s developer. Epic states: “Region restrictions are handled by the developer of the game, and Epic Games Player Support can’t remove these upon request.” If this appears to be the cause, Epic Support cannot remove the restriction on request. Check the country on your Epic account: Epic says it can affect availability and should match your current country of residence. Epic’s Store guidance and account-country guidance cover these issues.
An EU seller-identification requirement affects the product
Epic describes a specific EU case: products from developers who have not completed the required seller-identification process may be unavailable to EU players, even while product pages remain visible. This applies to affected products and developers, not every game in the EU. Epic says players retain access to products they previously purchased or claimed. Epic’s Store availability page describes the restriction.

The game is not available on the Epic Store at launch
A game may not be offered on the Epic Games Store when it launches. Epic directs players with this issue to contact the game’s publisher. Availability on another storefront does not establish that the game is currently offered on Epic. Epic’s Store guidance covers launch availability.
Why a game may be missing from your Launcher library
Check the account and library display settings
Make sure you are signed in to the Epic account that bought or claimed the game. Then check the library display: reset filters, make sure “Installed” is unchecked if you are looking for games you have not installed, refresh the library, and check whether the library has been hidden. Epic lists these as checks for missing games. See Epic’s missing-library troubleshooting.

Confirm the game is available for your system
Epic advises checking whether the game supports your operating system. Also confirm that the game has actually been released. A title that has not reached its release time will not be available to install yet. Epic’s guides for missing library entries and Launcher access problems include these checks.
Check whether access changed
A game can disappear or become inaccessible because a purchase was refunded, a time-limited beta or press build expired, or a retail code was revoked as fraudulent. Check transaction history to see whether an item was gifted; if a retail code was revoked, Epic advises contacting the retailer. Epic’s missing-library article explains these access cases.

How to troubleshoot in the right order
- Locate the problem. Note whether “Unavailable” appears on the Store page, the Launcher library, or during download or installation.
- If it is a Store listing, check ownership and region. See whether your account already owns an edition containing the content, and check that your Epic account country matches your current country of residence. Epic says region restrictions are handled by developers and cannot be removed by Player Support on request. Store availability; account country.
- If it is missing from the library, verify the account and filters. Sign in to the account that purchased or claimed the game, reset filters, uncheck “Installed” when looking for uninstalled games, refresh the library, and check hidden-library settings. Epic’s missing-library steps.
- Check release and system compatibility. Confirm the game has been released and supports your operating system. If it has not appeared at launch on Epic, contact the publisher. Epic’s Launcher access guidance.
- Restart and refresh the Launcher. Restart it; for a missing library entry, Epic also recommends clearing the Launcher’s web cache. Its access guidance additionally recommends setting the computer’s date and time to update automatically. Missing-library troubleshooting; Launcher access troubleshooting.
- Review access history. Check transaction history for a refund or gift. For a revoked retail code, contact the retailer rather than treating it as a library-filter problem. Epic’s missing-library guidance.
- Check for a current service incident. Consult Epic’s public status dashboard when the problem occurs. It reports separate components for the Store, login, downloads and installation, and purchasing and refunding; its status can change over time.
Use the pattern to narrow down the cause
If only one Store listing is unavailable, focus first on ownership, region, EU seller identification, or whether the game is offered on Epic at launch. If a previously claimed game is missing, check the account, filters, hidden-library setting, and access history. If several games or Launcher functions fail at once, check the live status dashboard as well as the Launcher settings. These patterns help prioritize checks; they do not by themselves identify the cause.
