The $1 Game Pass offer is a conditional promotion, not a standard price, so many accounts will never see it. Xbox says its promotional offers may be limited to new subscribers, may not be valid for every subscriber, run only for a limited time, and are available only in select regions. Whether the offer appears depends on your account, your location, and the plan you are looking at.
What Xbox’s offer terms say
The promotion note on Xbox’s official Game Pass product page reads:
“Sign in for your available offers. Promotional offers may be for new subscribers only and/or not be valid for all subscribers and are only available for a limited time. Offers available in select regions only. Credit card required. After promotional period, subscription automatically continues at the then-current regular price (subject to change), unless canceled, plus applicable taxes.”
The page does not name an individual author. The wording matters in three ways. The offer is a per-account decision, not a public price list. Eligibility is tied to both subscription status and geography. And the promotion ends in an automatic renewal at whatever the regular price is at that time.

What the US Game Pass page shows by plan
At the time of writing, the US Xbox Game Pass plans page displayed a $1 introductory price for two plans and none for the others. Offer pages change without notice, so treat this as a snapshot rather than a guarantee for any account or country.

The practical lesson is that a $1 offer for one tier does not transfer to the others. If you are shopping for Ultimate or PC Game Pass and see no $1 price, the page itself is not showing an error.

Why the $1 offer may not appear for you
Xbox does not publish a rule that explains every account’s eligibility, so the following are the possible causes, not a diagnosis of your account.
Your subscription history
Offers may be restricted to new subscribers, and they may not be valid for every subscriber. If you have held a Game Pass membership before, or your account currently has an active or recently active one, the introductory price may not be offered to you.

Your country or region
Xbox says offers are available only in select regions. The official terms do not include a country-by-country list, so a neighbour’s screenshot is not evidence that your region qualifies.
Timing
The offer is available only for a limited time. A promotion you saw in an article, video or social post may have ended or been replaced.

The plan you selected
As the table above shows, the introductory price appears only on selected plans. Checking the offer for the wrong tier will look like the deal has disappeared.
What your signed-in account is shown
Xbox tells customers to sign in to see their available offers. An offer displayed on the public page is not the same as an offer tied to your account, so the signed-in view and checkout screen are the only places that reflect what Microsoft is presenting to you.

How to check your offer
- Sign in to the Microsoft account you intend to use for Game Pass. Offers are account-specific, so signing in with a different account can show different results.
- Open the Game Pass plan you want and read the offer shown for that plan. Confirm it applies to that tier, not just to the Game Pass brand in general.
- Proceed to checkout and review the payment method, the introductory amount, the length of the promotional period, the renewal date, and the renewal price with taxes. A credit card is required, and the subscription renews at the then-current regular price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- If no offer appears, compare the plan you want with the table above, then try the plan’s signed-in page once more before deciding the offer is not available to you.
If the offer is still missing
- The offer is probably account- or region-specific. Xbox’s public terms do not identify the specific reason for any single account.
- If you believe you should qualify, contact Microsoft or Xbox support and describe the plan, the sign-in account, the country on the account, and the exact message shown at checkout.
- If the $1 price is not available, the standard monthly price on the signed-in checkout page is the figure to budget for, since that is the amount the subscription will continue at after any promotion.
The short answer for most readers is that the $1 price is a targeted promotion. It is not a general price, and seeing it or not seeing it is a question for the signed-in checkout screen, not for the public offer page.
