Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteYou can’t join the Marathon Server Slam now because its scheduled playtest ended on March 2, 2026, at 10 AM PT. If you saw a Currant error while the test was live, Bungie says it meant your game client failed to connect to the dedicated server it was matched to. The code alone does not show whether the cause was your connection or a wider service issue.
Can you still play the Marathon Server Slam?
No. Bungie’s worldwide Server Slam ran from February 26, 2026, at 10 AM PT, through March 2, 2026, at 10 AM PT. It was a limited-time preview, not an always-open beta. The event was available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with cross-play and cross-save. Its access window has passed, so old download or join instructions will not get you into that playtest. Check Bungie’s official Marathon announcements for any later access windows.
What does the Currant error mean?
Marathon Support defines CURRANT as a networking error in which “the game client failed to connect to the dedicated server it was matched to.” Bungie Support posted that explanation on March 6, 2026. It describes the failed connection, but does not identify the precise cause in an individual case. Read Marathon Support’s Currant explanation.
Bungie’s general Currant error guidance lists possible contributors such as ISP problems, packet loss, modem or router trouble, and unstable Wi-Fi. These are possibilities, not a diagnosis of your setup—and the code by itself does not prove that Bungie’s servers are healthy or experiencing an outage.

What to try if Currant appears during an available playtest
- Fully close Marathon. Exit the game rather than leaving it suspended, then launch it again.
- Restart your PC or console and router. This is among the steps Marathon Support recommends for Currant.
- Test a wired connection if practical. Ethernet can help determine whether Wi-Fi instability is part of the problem. Bungie presents this as an option, not a guaranteed fix; you do not need to buy hardware on the assumption that it will solve the error.
- Check official status updates. Look at Marathon’s official channels for a reported service issue before concluding that an isolated error means there is a wider outage. Bungie warned that Server Slam participants could encounter queues, disconnects, error codes, bugs, or emergency maintenance because the event was a technical stress test. That warning is context, not proof that stress caused any particular Currant error. Bungie’s pre-event briefing explains the warning.
