If you are eligible, unlink the platform from the account’s ACCOUNT LINKING settings. If the option is missing or the request fails for another reason, Activision directs players to its support option for “I can’t unlink an account.”
Check Activision’s 12-month limit first
Activision’s account-management guide, updated September 28, 2026, says: “You may unlink individual platform accounts from an Activision account once every 12 months.” If you have already unlinked an individual platform account within that interval, the self-service option may not be available. The current guide does not describe a way to bypass the limit.
How to unlink a platform account
- Sign in to the Activision account that currently has the platform account linked.
- Open ACCOUNT LINKING.
- Find the platform account you want to remove and select UNLINK.
- Check the confirmation box and select CONTINUE.
Make sure you are signed in to the intended Activision account and have selected the platform account you mean to remove.
Understand what happens to progress
In games that support cross-progression, progress is associated with the Activision account. Activision says progress will not carry over if you link a platform account to a different Activision account. It also says progress and content are not lost: you can access them again by relinking the platform account to the original Activision account.

If you cannot sign in to Activision
If you have lost access to your Activision password or email, Activision says you can try signing in with a platform account already linked to the Activision account. Then use BASIC INFO to update your account credentials.
If you suspect the account was compromised
Use Activision’s Hacked Account Recovery process if you cannot access an account that may have been compromised. Activision’s verification guidance says to update your password and submit a recovery request if suspicious activity continues or is identified.

When to contact Activision Support
If you meet the 12-month interval but still cannot unlink, or you see an error the account guide does not explain, choose “I can’t unlink an account” in Activision Support Options. The current public account guide does not list every account-specific reason a request might be blocked, so the exact cause needs to be assessed by support for your account.
