If you’re trying to subscribe, check whether you mean Roblox Plus or the discontinued Premium plan, then check your platform and region. If Roblox shows an installation error, use the steps for your device—especially if the message is “Upgrade Failed” on Mac. The exact error, device, country or region, and whether this concerns Roblox Plus or an app update will help narrow it down.
Why can’t I upgrade my Roblox?
Start by identifying what you’re trying to upgrade:
- A paid membership: Roblox Premium is no longer available for new purchases. Roblox’s current membership purchase option is Roblox Plus, subject to platform and regional limits.
- The app or Roblox Player: The relevant steps depend on your device and the exact error. Roblox has a specific fix for “Upgrade Failed” on Mac and separate troubleshooting steps for Android.
If the issue is a missing subscription button, check the platform and app version before troubleshooting an installation error.
Why can’t I upgrade to Roblox Plus?
Premium is no longer available to new subscribers
Roblox says Premium stopped being available for purchase on April 30, 2026. Existing subscribers may keep their subscription, but anyone who cancels cannot resubscribe. Plus purchases depend on where you use Roblox
Roblox lists purchases through the web or desktop, Apple App Store, and Google Play. Plus is not available from the Roblox app in the Samsung Galaxy Store, PCGDK, Microsoft Handheld, Quest, or other consoles. It is also unavailable to users in Vietnam using the Roblox-VNG app. If you’re on one of those surfaces or in that region, the subscription option may not appear. Roblox Plus
Update the mobile app if you don’t see the subscription option

Check your account’s app region
Roblox detects account location automatically using device signals, including your IP address. That location can affect which version of the app you should use. If you download Roblox through the Apple App Store or Google Play, Roblox advises making sure the store is set to the correct region. What if Roblox says “Upgrade Failed” on Mac?
For this specific Mac error, Roblox recommends opening the experience’s details page in a web browser and clicking Play. Roblox says this installs the latest version of Roblox Player. How do I troubleshoot Roblox on Android?
Roblox recommends using the latest Android OS. If you see an app compatibility warning, Roblox says the device may not currently be supported or recommended. Try these steps:
- Force-stop Roblox, then open it again.
- Restart your device.
- Reinstall the Roblox app.
- Clear Roblox app data in your device settings.
- Check that your device’s date and time are accurate.

If an Android purchase went through but Plus didn’t appear
Roblox’s Android guidance applies to a purchase made through Google Play. First confirm you were logged into the correct Roblox account when you bought the product. If you have a valid Google Play receipt and the correct account is active, Roblox says to tap the product again to display the purchase confirmation, then tap outside the confirmation box to cancel; the product should then be applied. Roblox says Roblox Gift Card credit can be used for Plus, and its gift-card page describes 3-, 6-, and 12-month subscriptions. Check the exact card type and redemption instructions before relying on credit to pay. Amazon Roblox Gift Cards are different: Roblox Support says they can be redeemed for Robux only, not Roblox Credit, so they are not a way to fund a Plus purchase. When should I contact Roblox Support?
Use Roblox’s support form if the applicable steps don’t resolve the issue. Include details that let support distinguish an account, platform, payment, or installation problem:
