Shadow Force was a themed mode in PUBG MOBILE 3.0 that added a limited second-chance respawn on Erangel, three tactical items, and remade urban buildings. The official event page documents it as a 2024 feature, and it does not establish that the mode or version 3.0 can still be downloaded or played today.
What Shadow Force added to PUBG MOBILE
Shadow Force is a themed mode that arrived with PUBG MOBILE 3.0, described on the official PUBG MOBILE event page. Its main changes fall into three groups: a conditional respawn system called Respawn Battle, a set of themed combat and movement items, and reworked buildings on three maps.
How Respawn Battle works
Respawn Battle is the mode’s most distinctive rule. It is not an unlimited extra life. The event page sets several conditions:
- Timing: the extra respawn opportunity is available only within the first eight minutes of a match.
- Map: it applies only on Erangel.
- Entry: a defeated player enters a separate battleground, where time-limited respawn points can return them to the match.
- Repeat entry: a player can enter the separate battle only once.
- Teammate recall: a teammate in the separate battle can recall a player, but if that player is defeated again after returning, they cannot re-enter.
- Respawn Card: the page describes different outcomes for players with and without a Respawn Card. Check the event page for the exact wording of each case, since the outcomes depend on that item.
The three tactical items
Each of the mode’s prominent items serves a different purpose. They are not interchangeable, and the event page presents each with its own limits.

Shadow Blade
The Shadow Blade is a melee weapon found mainly in the themed buildings. Its slash can hit several nearby enemies. Its Draw Slash skill dashes the player toward or away from an enemy, which allows a close-range entry or a quick exit. Its passive skill, Assault Blade, blocks shots coming from the front for a short time, offering brief frontal protection rather than full cover.
Skytether Hook
The Skytether Hook is a portable grappling hook. It pulls the user in a straight line toward a chosen target location. A second tap of the skill deploys a parachute for a brief glide, so it doubles as a movement tool for crossing gaps, reaching high positions, or leaving a fight.

Proxy Scout
The Proxy Scout is a thrown tactical item that creates a remote-controlled lookalike for reconnaissance and distraction. The decoy can perform basic character actions and use a Skytether Hook, but it cannot shoot. It blows nearby enemies away when it is eliminated or when the player detonates it manually. While the player controls the Proxy Scout, they remain at their original location and cannot take other actions.
Changes to Erangel, Yasnaya Polyana, Prison and Georgopol
Some buildings in Yasnaya Polyana, Prison, and Georgopol were remade for the mode. The event page describes new routes, vertical and horizontal movement options, new shooting positions, Supply Warehouses, and Camo Doors. These changes affect how players move through the affected buildings, so familiar building routes may behave differently in the themed version.

Other additions in the 3.0 update
The same event page also lists updates beyond the themed battle royale content. These include World of Wonder creation and editing features: new interactive elements, virtual projection, Blade Ball, humanoid enemy spawns, and faction devices, along with editor improvements and new templates. It also lists an exclusive February gameplay section that brings back a two-seat bike.

Can you still download Shadow Force?
The event page links to APK downloads. It does not say whether those builds are the current version, whether they are still supported, or whether they are safe for your device. Nothing on the page establishes that version 3.0 or Shadow Force remains available in any region, and the page does not list current device or platform requirements.
Before installing anything, check the following:
- Confirm the version name against the current PUBG MOBILE release notes rather than assuming an older APK is the latest build.
- Prefer your device’s official app store or the publisher’s own channels over third-party file sites.
- Expect that a 2024 themed mode may not be on the live server, even if an installer still runs.
- Back up any account-linked progress before switching builds.
If you find that the mode is not in the live game, the Respawn Battle, Shadow Blade, Skytether Hook, and Proxy Scout details above still explain what the mode was designed to do.
