You can play Hitman for free by downloading the official HITMAN WOA Free Demo from your platform’s local store. It includes the ICA Training Facility and introductory missions, plus Dubai tutorial content; other locations and special targets may be available only during limited rotations. It is a demo, not the full World of Assassination trilogy.
Where to download the free Hitman demo
Search your platform’s store for “HITMAN WOA Free Demo” and check that the listing is available in your region. IO Interactive’s support page lists PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Its campaign page also links demo options for Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Mac App Store. The official pages do not give identical platform lists, so the local store listing is the best way to confirm availability for your device. IOI Player Support · World of Assassination campaign page

What the free demo includes
Permanent introductory content
The demo permanently includes the ICA Training Facility and the Prologue missions, which introduce the game’s systems and start the World of Assassination story. IO Interactive says XP and unlocks earned there carry over if you later buy the full game. IOI Player Support · IO Interactive announcement

Dubai tutorial missions
IO Interactive’s February 2026 naming announcement describes the Sebastian Principle Escalation as part of the demo. It is a three-mission tutorial set in Dubai; the PlayStation Store listing also identifies it as included content. IO Interactive announcement · PlayStation Store demo listing
Rotating locations and targets
The demo can periodically offer other locations and live content, including celebrity Elusive Targets while they are active. These extras can expire, so check the current in-game notices, official roadmap, or store listing rather than relying on an old event announcement. The PlayStation listing describes celebrity target access as limited. IOI Player Support · PlayStation Store demo listing

Is Hitman completely free?
No. The standing free offer is an entry-level demo, not all three campaigns. The PlayStation Store lists the full World of Assassination edition separately, with the HITMAN 1, HITMAN 2, and HITMAN 3 campaigns. The Free Demo listing is limited to introductory content and any extra missions or targets active for a limited time. Store prices and promotions can change, so check your local listing for current terms. PlayStation Store demo listing
The PlayStation Store says some content requires a free IOI Account. That does not establish a universal account or paid console-subscription requirement for every platform and demo feature; follow the sign-in prompts shown by your own store and game. PlayStation Store demo listing

Why you may see “Free Starter Pack” in older guides
IO Interactive announced on February 5, 2026, that it was renaming the Free Starter Pack to HITMAN WOA Free Demo. The company said the change was “purely about clarity” and that the content was not changing. Older references to the Free Starter Pack may therefore point to the same free entry point under its previous name. IO Interactive announcement

Free access to a featured mission does not mean it remains part of the demo permanently. For example, IO Interactive scheduled The Wizard, featuring Wiz Khalifa, to be available through the Free Demo from June 5 to July 5, 2026. That window has ended; it is an example of a temporary event, not a currently available mission. Check the live roadmap or game notices for what is active now. IO Interactive event announcement
