Search the top interior floor—not the roof—for a box on a desk near a window, then pick up the mementos and extract with them to deliver to Tian Wen.
Where is the mementos location?
The item is part of The Major’s Footlocker quest. The objective sends you to the apartments northwest of The Dam, at Ruby Residence in the northwestern part of Dam Battlegrounds. The quest reference lists Tian Wen as the delivery target. (quest objectives; room directions)
How to find the box
- Travel to Ruby Residence on Dam Battlegrounds.
- Enter the leftmost apartment building and climb two flights of stairs to the top interior floor. Do not go onto the roof.
- Follow the rooms to a dead end with a window. Look for a box on a desk there.
- Search the box, then pick up the Major Aiva’s Mementos item it yields. Searching the container alone does not complete the pickup.
The quest objective describes the destination as the apartments northwest of The Dam. (GameSpot’s guide, published November 5, 2025; quest reference)
How to keep and deliver the mementos
Once picked up, the mementos need to leave the raid with you so you can deliver them to Tian Wen. If your augment has a safe pocket, placing the item there can protect it if the run ends before a normal extraction. Otherwise, plan an extraction route before entering the apartments.

GameSpot names Central Swamp Lift to the south and North Complex Elevator to the east as nearby exits. It describes North Complex Elevator as likely safer because the swamp area tends to be busy; that is a guide recommendation, not a guarantee about current player or ARC activity. Choose based on your approach and conditions during your raid. (GameSpot’s guide)
Why the item matters to Tian Wen
In the dialogue reproduced by a community-maintained quest reference, Tian Wen says he hoped the earlier First Wave site searches would turn up something of his mother’s. He explains that she fought in the Raider resistance and that he now has an actual lead. The reference identifies Major Aiva as Tian Wen’s mother; this dialogue attribution comes from the community source, not an official transcript. (quest reference)
