Marvel Cosmic Invasion has 15 heroes in its launch roster, but official sources do not identify which launch characters start locked or give a verified campaign-by-campaign unlock route. The confirmed list and the later DLC additions are below; DLC characters are separate from campaign unlocks.
Which heroes are in Marvel Cosmic Invasion?
Dotemu’s launch announcement confirms these 15 playable characters in the launch roster:

How do you unlock the launch-roster heroes?
The publisher confirms that some heroes are unlockable: a Steam update refers to “Unlockable Super Heroes” and fixes an issue that caused their icons to appear greyed out. However, that update does not name the characters or specify how to unlock them. Official sources cited here do not establish which heroes are initially available, which start locked, or the campaign stages and boss encounters required.

Which additional heroes are DLC?
DLC adds characters beyond the 15-hero launch roster. A purchase is separate from unlocking a launch-roster hero through play; the official announcements do not describe DLC as a requirement for campaign unlocks.

Which platforms and editions are listed?
Dotemu’s launch announcement lists Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. The Nintendo Switch 2 listing gives December 1, 2025 as that edition’s release date.
