A video posted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used imagery inspired by the Grand Theft Auto series and a “before GTA 6” release-date joke to attack political rivals. Accessible reports describe one specific clip—not a verified roundup of ads by multiple parties—and its claims about coalition plans are campaign rhetoric, not evidence of what the politicians intend to do.
What the reported GTA-inspired video shows
ICE reported that Netanyahu posted an animated video inspired by the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Its central gag, as described in Hebrew-language coverage, asks whether Gadi Eisenkot and Avigdor Lieberman would form a Palestinian state before GTA 6 comes out. That wording is a translated paraphrase of the reported Hebrew message, not a verified verbatim English quotation. ICE’s report

Channel 14 described a similar satirical sequence: Eisenkot and Lieberman collect votes associated with the right, and Eisenkot then brings them to Mansour Abbas, the leader of Ra’am. ICE likewise characterized Eisenkot as taking right-wing votes and transferring them to Abbas. These are the outlets’ descriptions of the clip and its political accusation; they do not establish that the politicians actually intend to act as depicted. Channel 14’s account
Why GTA 6 is part of the joke
The reference does two jobs in the reported clip: it borrows the recognizable visual language of Grand Theft Auto and uses the long-awaited game’s release as a punchline about political timing. The joke frames a proposed political outcome as something that might happen before the game arrives; it does not substantiate the ad’s allegation about a future Palestinian state or a coalition involving the figures it depicts.

What the headline establishes—and what it doesn’t
Haaretz’s headline frames GTA 6 as a reference in Israeli parties’ campaign-ad arsenal, and The Times of Israel newsfeed listed the Haaretz story on October 8, 2026. However, the Haaretz page was not accessible, so the full article’s examples could not be checked. The accessible reports substantiate one Netanyahu-posted video; they are not enough to independently verify a broader inventory of parties or campaign ads. No campaign-impact figures or audience-response data were established in the accessible reports. The clip is best understood as partisan messaging that uses a game reference to make its accusation memorable, not as evidence for the accusation itself.
