Manager Career is the mode for running a club’s squad, tactics, transfers, finances and player development. Download the latest squad update before searching; EA recommends this to bring current transfers and player ratings into the game. A database snapshot can narrow the search, but it cannot tell you whether a target is affordable or available in your particular save.
FAFIFA’s FC 27 database identifies its update as 20 August 2026 and covers 19,042 players across 54 leagues. EA describes the broader game as featuring more than 21,000 players, 800 clubs and national teams, 140 stadiums and 35+ leagues. These counts refer to different things: EA’s game-wide scale and FAFIFA’s database snapshot are not competing Career Mode player totals.
EA says the transfer market has been rebuilt with active club bidding and player values enhanced by TransferRoom. Negotiations can include performance and buy-back clauses. Dynamic OVR reflects form, morale and fitness across clubs, so a static database rating may not match a player’s in-save rating. Use the snapshot to discover names, then verify the target in game. Potential is a database estimate, not a guaranteed outcome.
For a club with a limited budget, a player like Alcaraz can make sense if you have a route to minutes, coaching and patience. If you need a midfielder to improve the starting XI straight away, prioritize current overall and role-specific attributes instead of potential alone. How to use the under-€15 million bargains list
FAFIFA’s “Bargains under 15 M€” ranking contains 1,386 players in its 20 August 2026 snapshot. Its filters are explicit: potential of at least 80 and market value no more than €15 million. The site reports values and wages as in-game euro figures. That filter is useful for finding prospects, but it does not mean every listed player can be signed by every club for the displayed value. The number is a database filter count, not a promise of availability or a transfer fee.
Use the list according to your purpose:
- Immediate starter: compare current overall and attributes for the position and role you need. Do not let a high potential rating conceal a player who is not ready to contribute.
- Rotation option: look for a current rating and role that can cover a real weakness without committing the squad’s full budget to a prospect.
- Development signing: weigh potential against current rating, age, and the minutes you can realistically offer. Potential is not a guaranteed growth result.
Before bidding, compare the displayed value with your available transfer budget, expected wages and any signing-on bonus. The rebuilt market and active bidding may change the negotiation; a listed value is a starting point for scouting, not a guaranteed asking price. Free agents: no transfer fee does not mean no cost
FAFIFA lists 238 free agents in the same 20 August 2026 snapshot and names Mohamed Salah, Giorgian De Arrascaeta and Fabinho among its leading entries. In FAFIFA’s interpretation, an out-of-contract player has no transfer fee. You still need to negotiate wages and a signing-on bonus, and a prominent free agent can be unaffordable even without a fee.
Assess free agents against your wage structure and their squad role, not just the transfer-budget saving. A high-profile player may strengthen the team immediately, but the ongoing wage commitment can make the deal a poor fit for a smaller club. Confirm that the player is still unattached in your save and review the contract terms before agreeing. FAFIFA’s free-agent ranking is a dated discovery list, not a guarantee that every name remains available.

Check these details before you sign
- Update the squad: use the latest squad update, as EA recommends for current transfers and ratings.
- Confirm the player in your save: check club, contract status, position and current overall. Affiliations and player details can change after updates.
- Judge the role, not just the headline rating: compare attributes relevant to the position and tactical job you need.
- Calculate the full commitment: include any transfer fee, wages and signing-on bonus. A free agent avoids the transfer fee, not the other costs.
- Negotiate for your club: account for active club bidding and consider whether a performance or buy-back clause suits the deal.
- Recheck Dynamic OVR: form, morale and fitness can affect the in-save rating, so do not assume a static database number will hold.
EA’s ratings page states that its table reflects launch Gold, Silver and Bronze Ultimate Team items, not live form updates in other modes, and warns that affiliations and details can change after database updates.
