There is no official, consolidated list in Infinity Nikki’s announcements that maps every Itzaland Esseling to a location and a weakness, so no guide can honestly promise a complete, enemy-by-enemy defeat chart. What official game updates do confirm is how the combat tools work: Archery’s Homing Arrows, the healing effect added to arrows in a later update, and Momo’s companion attacks. Those mechanics are enough to fight Esselings effectively in Itzaland, and this article explains them, shows where each one applies, and flags what remains unconfirmed.
Start with Archery: the core ranged tool
The Version 2.0 announcement introduced Itzaland together with a new combat system, and Archery is the central ranged ability in it. According to that announcement, holding the attack button enters aiming mode, and releasing fires Homing Arrows that automatically lock onto targets within range. Because the arrows track their targets, you do not need to hit a moving Esseling with precise aim, though the announcement does not specify how many arrows a given Esseling takes to defeat.
Use Archery as your default approach against Esselings you can see at a distance. Hold to aim, wait for the target to be within range, then release. If an Esseling is out of range, reposition before drawing, since the lock-on only applies to targets inside that range.
Arrow healing from the Version 2.2 update
The Version 2.2 announcement describes an arrow effect that restores Nikki’s health when an arrow hits an Esseling. That makes Archery useful for sustaining yourself during longer fights, not only for damage. The same update lists several new enemies, but it ties them specifically to Wanxiang Realm, so they should not be treated as part of the Itzaland roster.

Momo’s companion attacks
The Version 2.5 announcement describes Momo’s combat progression and gives Momo three relevant behaviours. Momo attacks nearby Esselings on its own. After consecutive basic attacks, it can use a claw combo. It can also charge a Pawbeam against distant targets, which covers enemies that Archery’s range might not reach comfortably. While enlarged, Momo alternates between headbutts and kicks.
These behaviours are taken from the update’s stated mechanics. They describe what the announcement says Momo does, not measured results from testing, so the relative strength of Momo’s attacks against any specific Esseling is not established.

Purifying Esselings in Pottsville
The Version 2.4 announcement describes an event in which players travel to Pottsville in Itzaland to help Shroomie Lili purify Esselings, with rewards for taking part. The announcement confirms the purification activity and its rewards, but it does not provide a lasting step-by-step guide to each encounter in the event. If your goal is purification rather than only defeating enemies, this event is the official reference point, and its specifics may change in later updates.
Comparing the confirmed options
The announcements support comparing these options by function and reach. They do not support ranking them by damage, speed, or effectiveness against each Esseling type.

Why there is no verified complete roster
A search result for a BRBPlay guide claims “All 24 Locations.” That claim has not been independently checked, and it is unclear whether the guide covers later Itzaland additions. Treat it as a lead to verify in the game, not as a confirmed count.
The gap is also growing over time. The Version 2.5 announcement added the Boneyard to regional compendium and guide content, and the Version 2.8 announcement shows the Itzaland storyline continuing with new chapters. Any roster or location list is only reliable when it is dated to a specific game version, so check the publication date and the patch it describes before relying on it.

A practical approach in the field
- Use Archery against Esselings at range, and reposition if they are outside the lock-on range.
- Keep Archery fire going during fights, since arrow hits restore your health.
- Bring Momo into close fights, where it attacks nearby Esselings automatically.
- Save Momo’s Pawbeam for distant targets, where a charged attack is the official option for reaching them.
- Join the Pottsville purification event if it is running, and check its rewards in the game.
- Cross-check any location guide against the current game version before using it.
Esseling-specific weaknesses, spawn points, and health values are not stated in the official announcements reviewed here, so test each fight yourself rather than assuming a single method works for every enemy.
